The Resurrection
Bismillah
75:1
I do swear by the Resurrection Day;
75:2
and I do swear by the self-reproaching soul.
75:3
Does Man think that We cannot assemble his bones?
75:4
Nay, We are able to (again) put together in perfect order the [very] tips of his fingers.
75:5
But Man wishes to [continue] committing [grave] sins [even] in the time in front of him.
75:6
He questions: “When is the Day of Resurrection?”
75:7
[The Day of Resurrection will come] when the Sight is dazed [with fright],
75:8
and the Moon is eclipsed,
75:9
and the Sun and Moon are joined together —
75:10
that Day will Man say: “Where is the place of refuge?”
75:11
By no means! [That day, there will be] no place of refuge!
75:12
To your Lord [alone] that Day will be the final destination.
75:13
That Day will Man be informed about [all] that he put forward, and [all] that he left behind.
75:14
Nay, Man will be evidence against himself,
75:15
even though he were to put up his excuses.
75:16
[O Prophet] Move not your tongue with the [Qur’ān] to make haste therewith.
75:17
It is Our responsibility to collect it and to recite it.
75:18
So when We recite it, follow its recital
75:19
Thereafter, it is for Us to explain it [to make it clear]:
75:20
Nay, you [People] love the fleeting current [life],
75:21
and leave [forget] the Hereafter.
75:22
Some faces, that Day, will beam [in happiness],
75:23
looking towards their Lord;
75:24
and some faces, that Day, will be frowning,
75:25
fearing that some back-breaking calamity will [soon] be inflicted on them;
75:26
Yes, when [the soul] reaches the collar-bone [in its exit at death],
75:27
And there will be a cry, “Who is an enchanter [to revive him]?”
75:28
And he will think that it was [the time] of parting;
75:29
And one leg will be joined with the other:
75:30
That day the drive will be [all] to your Lord!
75:31
So he gave nothing in charity, nor did he pray!
75:32
On the contrary, he disbelieved [the Truth] and turned away!
75:33
Then did he strut back to his family [in full conceit]!
75:34
Woe to you, [O Man!]; yes, woe [to you]!
75:35
Again, woe to you, [O Man!]; yes, woe [to you]!
75:36
Does Man think that [after his death] he will be left unaccountable [for his deeds and misdeeds]?
75:37
Was he not a [helpless] drop of sperm, emitted?
75:38
Then did he become a congealed blood clot; then [Allāh] did make and fashion [him] in due proportion.
75:39
And of him He made two pairs, male and female.
75:40
Has He not [the same] power to give life to the dead?
