The Prophets in the Qur'ān
Allāh sent His Messengers and Prophets to all people, ending with Prophet Muḥammad who was the last Prophet of Allāh. Only some of them have been mentioned in the Qur’ān. The Arabic or Islāmic names of these prophets have been used in this translation with the biblical name in parentheses at the first occurrence of the name in the Qur’ān. Listed below are the Prophets mentioned in the Qur’ān by their names. After each name, is the āyah number where it occurred first in the Qur’ān. At every such place of first occurrence of the name, a short note about each Prophet is found in the footnote to the mentioned āyah.
