The Soul-snatchers

Bismillah
79:1
By the [angels] who tear out [the souls of the Wicked] with cruelty;1
79:2
and by those who gently draw out [the souls of the blessed];
79:3
and by those who glide along [on errands of Mercy of their Lord],
79:4
then press forward as in a race,
79:5
then arrange to do Command [of their Lord],
79:6
the Day [of Resurrection] when everything, that can be in commotion, will be in violent commotion,
79:7
followed by oft-repeated [commotions]:
79:8
Hearts that Day will be in agitation [out of fear];
79:9
cast down will be [their owners’] eyes.
79:10
They say [now]: “What! Shall we indeed be returned to [our] former state?1
79:11
“What! When we shall have become hollow bones?”
79:12
They say: “It would, in that case, be a return with loss!”
79:13
But, verily, it will be but a single [compelling] Cry,
79:14
when, behold, they [the dead] will be brought out to the open.
79:15
Has the story of Mūsā1reached you?
79:16
Behold, your Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Ṭuwā:1
79:17
[He was commanded:] “Go to the Pharaoh1for he has indeed transgressed [all bounds]:
79:18
“And say to him, ‘Would you wish that you be purified [from sin]?
79:19
“‘And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear [Him]?’”
79:20
Then did [Mūsā] show him the Great Sign.
79:21
[But the Pharaoh] disbelieved and disobeyed [the Message];
79:22
Further, he turned his back, striving hard [against Allāh].
79:23
Then he assembled [his people] and made a proclamation.
79:24
He said, “I am your Lord, Supreme.”
79:25
So Allāh did seize him, [and made him an] example [of Punishment]1in the Hereafter, and in the first [life].
79:26
Verily, in this is a lesson for whosoever fears [Allāh].
79:27
What! Are you more difficult to create or the heaven [above]? [Allāh] has constructed it:
79:28
High has He raised its canopy and gave it perfection.
79:29
Its night He endowed with darkness, and its splendour He brought out [with the daylight].
79:30
And the earth, thereafter, He levelled [to a wide expanse];
79:31
He drew out therefrom its water and its pasture,
79:32
and the mountains has He firmly fixed,1
79:33
a provision for you and your cattle.
79:34
Therefore, when there comes the Greatest, Overwhelming [Event],1
79:35
the Day when Man shall remember [all] that he strove for [during his life on earth],
79:36
and Hell-Fire shall be placed in full view for him who sees.
79:37
Then, for such as had transgressed [all bounds],
79:38
and had preferred the life of this world,
79:39
Hell will be [his eternal] abode;
79:40
But for such as had entertained the fear of standing before his Lord [for Judgement] and had restrained [his] soul from whims,
79:41
Paradise is [his eternal] abode.
79:42
They ask you about The Hour:1“When will be its appointed time?”
79:43
Wherein are you [concerned] with the narration thereof?
79:44
With your Lord is its final end.
79:45
You are but a Warner for those as fear it.
79:46
The Day they will see it, [it will be] as if they had spent1but a single evening, or [at most till] the following morning!
