The-Folded-in-Blanket

Bismillah
73:1
O You, the-Folded-in-the-Blanket!1
73:2
Stand [to prayer] by night, but not all [night],1
73:3
half of it, or a little less,
73:4
or a little more; and recite the Qur’ān in a slow, measured tone.1
73:5
Soon shall We send down to you a weighty Word [Qur’ān].
73:6
Truly, the rising [for prayer] by night1is more suitable, and when speech is more certain.
73:7
True, there is for you by day a prolonged occupation [with ordinary duties]:
73:8
And keep in remembrance the name of your Lord, and devote yourself to Him whole-heartedly.
73:9
[He is] the Lord of the East and of the West: There is no god but He: take Him, therefore, as the Guardian [of your affairs].
73:10
And endure patiently what they say, and shun them in a beautiful manner.1
73:11
And leave Me [to deal with] the disbelievers enjoying the good things of life; and give them respite for a little while.1
73:12
With Us are Fetters [to bind them with], and Fire [to burn them in],
73:13
and a Food that chokes, and a Punishment painful,
73:14
the Day the earth and the mountains will be in violent commotion, and the mountains will be as a heap of sand poured out and flowing down.
73:15
We have sent to you [O People] a Messenger to be a witness upon you, just as We sent a Messenger to the Pharaoh.1
73:16
[But] the Pharaoh disobeyed the Messenger; so We seized him with a terrible Punishment.
73:17
Then how shall you, if you reject [Allāh], guard yourselves against a Day that will make children hoary-headed?,
73:18
Whereon the sky will be cleft asunder? His [Allāh’s] Promise had to be accomplished.
73:19
Verily, this is a Reminder: therefore, whosoever wishes, let him take a [straight] path to his Lord!
73:20
[O Prophet] Your Lord does know that you stand forth [to prayer] a little less than two-thirds of the night, or half of it, or a third of the night, and so does a party of those with you.1And Allāh does determine Night and Day in [exact] measure. He knows that you are unable to keep count thereof, so He turned to you [in mercy]: so now read of the Qur’ān as much as may be easy. He knows that there may be [some] among you in ill-health; others travelling through the land seeking of Allāh’s bounty; yet others fighting in Allāh’s Cause; so read you, therefore, as much of the Qur’ān as may be easy [for you]; and establish [regular] Prayer and pay Zakāt; and extend to Allāh a beautiful loan.2And whatever good you send forth for yourselves, you shall find it with Allāh, better and greater, in Reward [on the Day of Judgement]. And seek you the Grace of Allāh: for Allāh is Oft-Forgiving, Most-Merciful.
