Signs Spelled Out
41:1
حمٓ ١
Ḥā Mīm.1
41:2
تَنزِيلٞ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ ٢
[This is] a revelation from the Most-Gracious, Most-Merciful,
41:3
كِتَٰبٞ فُصِّلَتۡ ءَايَٰتُهُۥ قُرۡءَانًا عَرَبِيّٗا لِّقَوۡمٖ يَعۡلَمُونَ ٣
a Book whose verses are explained in detail; a Qur’ān in Arabic,1for people who understand,
41:4
بَشِيرٗا وَنَذِيرٗا فَأَعۡرَضَ أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ فَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ ٤
giving good tidings and warning: yet most of them turn away as if they hear not.
41:5
وَقَالُواْ قُلُوبُنَا فِيٓ أَكِنَّةٖ مِّمَّا تَدۡعُونَآ إِلَيۡهِ وَفِيٓ ءَاذَانِنَا وَقۡرٞ وَمِنۢ بَيۡنِنَا وَبَيۡنِكَ حِجَابٞ فَٱعۡمَلۡ إِنَّنَا عَٰمِلُونَ ٥
They said: “Our hearts are under veils [concealed] from that to which you do invite us, and in our ears is deafness, and between us and you is a screen: so do you [what you will]; as for us, we shall do [what we will!]”
41:6
قُلۡ إِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ بَشَرٞ مِّثۡلُكُمۡ يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَآ إِلَٰهُكُمۡ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞ فَٱسۡتَقِيمُوٓاْ إِلَيۡهِ وَٱسۡتَغۡفِرُوهُۗ وَوَيۡلٞ لِّلۡمُشۡرِكِينَ ٦
Say you [O Prophet]: “I am but a human like you: it is revealed to me that your Allāh is One God: So follow the straight path unto Him and ask for His forgiveness.” And woe to those who join gods [with Allāh],
41:7
ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤۡتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَهُم بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ هُمۡ كَٰفِرُونَ ٧
those who pay not Zakāt and who reject [even] the Hereafter.
41:8
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ ٱلصَّٰلِحَٰتِ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرٌ غَيۡرُ مَمۡنُونٖ ٨
For those who believe and do righteous deeds is a reward limitless.
41:9
قُلۡ أَئِنَّكُمۡ لَتَكۡفُرُونَ بِٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ فِي يَوۡمَيۡنِ وَتَجۡعَلُونَ لَهُۥٓ أَندَادٗاۚ ذَٰلِكَ رَبُّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ٩
Say: Is it is you who reject Him, the One who created the earth in two Days?1And do you make [others] equals with Him, the Lord-of-the-Worlds?
41:10
وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا رَوَٰسِيَ مِن فَوۡقِهَا وَبَٰرَكَ فِيهَا وَقَدَّرَ فِيهَآ أَقۡوَٰتَهَا فِيٓ أَرۡبَعَةِ أَيَّامٖ سَوَآءٗ لِّلسَّآئِلِينَ ١٠
He [Allāh] set on it [earth] mountains1standing firm, high above it, and bestowed blessings on it [the earth], and measured therein its sustenance, in four Days,2justly3[this is] for [the knowledge of those] who enquire.
41:11
ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَوَىٰٓ إِلَى ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَهِيَ دُخَانٞ فَقَالَ لَهَا وَلِلۡأَرۡضِ ٱئۡتِيَا طَوۡعًا أَوۡ كَرۡهٗا قَالَتَآ أَتَيۡنَا طَآئِعِينَ ١١
Then He [Allāh] turned to the sky, and it was smoke:1He said to it and to the earth: “Come you together, willingly or unwillingly.” They said: “We do come [together] in willing obedience.”2
41:12
فَقَضَىٰهُنَّ سَبۡعَ سَمَٰوَاتٖ فِي يَوۡمَيۡنِ وَأَوۡحَىٰ فِي كُلِّ سَمَآءٍ أَمۡرَهَاۚ وَزَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا بِمَصَٰبِيحَ وَحِفۡظٗاۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقۡدِيرُ ٱلۡعَزِيزِ ٱلۡعَلِيمِ ١٢
So He completed them as seven heavens in two Days,1and He assigned to each heaven its task. And We adorned the lower heaven with lights and [provided it] with guard. Such is the Estimation [Calculation] of [Him] the Mighty, the All-Knowing.
41:13
فَإِنۡ أَعۡرَضُواْ فَقُلۡ أَنذَرۡتُكُمۡ صَٰعِقَةٗ مِّثۡلَ صَٰعِقَةِ عَادٖ وَثَمُودَ ١٣
But if they turn away, say you: “I have warned you of a thunderbolt like the one which hit the ‘Ād1and the Thamūd!”2
41:14
إِذۡ جَآءَتۡهُمُ ٱلرُّسُلُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمِنۡ خَلۡفِهِمۡ أَلَّا تَعۡبُدُوٓاْ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَۖ قَالُواْ لَوۡ شَآءَ رَبُّنَا لَأَنزَلَ مَلَٰٓئِكَةٗ فَإِنَّا بِمَآ أُرۡسِلۡتُم بِهِۦ كَٰفِرُونَ ١٤
Behold, the Messengers came to them, from before them and behind them [preaching]: “Worship none but Allāh!” They said, “If our Lord had so pleased, He would certainly have sent down angels [as Messengers]: [And since He did not send down angels] we reject the Message you are sent with.”
41:15
فَأَمَّا عَادٞ فَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ بِغَيۡرِ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَقَالُواْ مَنۡ أَشَدُّ مِنَّا قُوَّةًۖ أَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَهُمۡ هُوَ أَشَدُّ مِنۡهُمۡ قُوَّةٗۖ وَكَانُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يَجۡحَدُونَ ١٥
As for the ‘Ād,1they behaved arrogantly through the land, without truth and reason, and said: “Who is superior to us in strength?” What! Did they not see that Allāh, who created them, is superior to them in strength? But they continued to disacknowledge Our Signs!
41:16
فَأَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ رِيحٗا صَرۡصَرٗا فِيٓ أَيَّامٖ نَّحِسَاتٖ لِّنُذِيقَهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلۡخِزۡيِ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَاۖ وَلَعَذَابُ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ أَخۡزَىٰۖ وَهُمۡ لَا يُنصَرُونَ ١٦
So We sent against them a furious cold wind through inauspicious days, in order to give them a taste of the punishment of humiliation in this life; but the punishment of the Hereafter will be more humiliating still: And they will not be helped.
41:17
وَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَهَدَيۡنَٰهُمۡ فَٱسۡتَحَبُّواْ ٱلۡعَمَىٰ عَلَى ٱلۡهُدَىٰ فَأَخَذَتۡهُمۡ صَٰعِقَةُ ٱلۡعَذَابِ ٱلۡهُونِ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَكۡسِبُونَ ١٧
As to the Thamūd,1We guided them, but they preferred blindness [of heart] to Guidance: So the thunderbolt of the punishment of humiliation seized them, because of what they had earned.
41:18
وَنَجَّيۡنَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَكَانُواْ يَتَّقُونَ ١٨
[But] We saved those who believed and feared [Allāh].
41:19
وَيَوۡمَ يُحۡشَرُ أَعۡدَآءُ ٱللَّهِ إِلَى ٱلنَّارِ فَهُمۡ يُوزَعُونَ ١٩
The Day that the enemies of Allāh will be pushed together to the Fire, they will be marched in ranks.
41:20
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا مَا جَآءُوهَا شَهِدَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ سَمۡعُهُمۡ وَأَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ وَجُلُودُهُم بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ ٢٠
At length, when they reach the [Fire], their hearing, their sight, and their skins will bear witness against them, as to [all] they did.
41:21
وَقَالُواْ لِجُلُودِهِمۡ لِمَ شَهِدتُّمۡ عَلَيۡنَاۖ قَالُوٓاْ أَنطَقَنَا ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنطَقَ كُلَّ شَيۡءٖ وَهُوَ خَلَقَكُمۡ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٖ وَإِلَيۡهِ تُرۡجَعُونَ ٢١
They will say to their skins: “Why bear you witness against us?” They will say: “Allāh, who gave speech to everyone, has made us speak: He created you for the first time, and unto Him you are to return.”
41:22
وَمَا كُنتُمۡ تَسۡتَتِرُونَ أَن يَشۡهَدَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ سَمۡعُكُمۡ وَلَآ أَبۡصَٰرُكُمۡ وَلَا جُلُودُكُمۡ وَلَٰكِن ظَنَنتُمۡ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا يَعۡلَمُ كَثِيرٗا مِّمَّا تَعۡمَلُونَ ٢٢
[They will be told:] “You did not seek to hide yourselves fearing that your hearing, your sight and your skins might bear witness against you! Indeed, you did think that Allāh knew not many of the things that you used to do!
41:23
وَذَٰلِكُمۡ ظَنُّكُمُ ٱلَّذِي ظَنَنتُم بِرَبِّكُمۡ أَرۡدَىٰكُمۡ فَأَصۡبَحۡتُم مِّنَ ٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَ ٢٣
“That thought of yours, which you entertained concerning your Sustainer, has brought you to destruction, and [now] you have become of the [utter] losers!”
41:24
فَإِن يَصۡبِرُواْ فَٱلنَّارُ مَثۡوٗى لَّهُمۡۖ وَإِن يَسۡتَعۡتِبُواْ فَمَا هُم مِّنَ ٱلۡمُعۡتَبِينَ ٢٤
If, then, they have patience, the Fire will be a Home for them! And if they beg to repent,1their prayer shall not be granted.
41:25
وَقَيَّضۡنَا لَهُمۡ قُرَنَآءَ فَزَيَّنُواْ لَهُم مَّا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡ وَحَقَّ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلُ فِيٓ أُمَمٖ قَدۡ خَلَتۡ مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ خَٰسِرِينَ ٢٥
And We had destined for them intimate companions [of like nature], who made fascinating to them what was before them and what was behind them; and the Word1among the previous generations of Jinns2and humans, who have passed away, proved right for them that they are utter losers.
41:26
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَا تَسۡمَعُواْ لِهَٰذَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانِ وَٱلۡغَوۡاْ فِيهِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَغۡلِبُونَ ٢٦
The Rejecters said: “Listen not to this Qur’ān! Instead, make [meaningless] noises in the midst of its [reading], so that you might gain the upper hand!”
41:27
فَلَنُذِيقَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ عَذَابٗا شَدِيدٗا وَلَنَجۡزِيَنَّهُمۡ أَسۡوَأَ ٱلَّذِي كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ ٢٧
So, We will certainly make the Rejecters taste of severe Punishment, and We will certainly requite them for the worst of their deeds.
41:28
ذَٰلِكَ جَزَآءُ أَعۡدَآءِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلنَّارُۖ لَهُمۡ فِيهَا دَارُ ٱلۡخُلۡدِ جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا يَجۡحَدُونَ ٢٨
The Fire is the reward of the enemies of Allāh — therein for them will be the Eternal Home: a [fit] requital for that they were wont to disacknowledge Our Sings.
41:29
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ رَبَّنَآ أَرِنَا ٱلَّذَيۡنِ أَضَلَّانَا مِنَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِ نَجۡعَلۡهُمَا تَحۡتَ أَقۡدَامِنَا لِيَكُونَا مِنَ ٱلۡأَسۡفَلِينَ ٢٩
And the Rejecters [of the Message] will say: “Our Lord! Show us those, among Jinns and humans, who misled us: We shall crush them under our feet, so that they become the lowliest.”
41:30
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ قَالُواْ رَبُّنَا ٱللَّهُ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَقَٰمُواْ تَتَنَزَّلُ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةُ أَلَّا تَخَافُواْ وَلَا تَحۡزَنُواْ وَأَبۡشِرُواْ بِٱلۡجَنَّةِ ٱلَّتِي كُنتُمۡ تُوعَدُونَ ٣٠
Those who say, “Our Lord is Allāh,” and, further, stand [upright and] steadfast, the angels descend on them [saying:] “Fear you not, nor grieve! But receive the glad tidings of Paradise which you were promised!
41:31
نَحۡنُ أَوۡلِيَآؤُكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِۖ وَلَكُمۡ فِيهَا مَا تَشۡتَهِيٓ أَنفُسُكُمۡ وَلَكُمۡ فِيهَا مَا تَدَّعُونَ ٣١
“We are your guardians in this life and in the Hereafter: Therein shall you have all that you shall desire; therein [Paradise] shall you have all that you ask for!1
41:32
نُزُلٗا مِّنۡ غَفُورٖ رَّحِيمٖ ٣٢
“A hospitable gift from the One [who is] Oft-Forgiving, Most-Merciful!”
41:33
وَمَنۡ أَحۡسَنُ قَوۡلٗا مِّمَّن دَعَآ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ وَعَمِلَ صَٰلِحٗا وَقَالَ إِنَّنِي مِنَ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ ٣٣
Who is better in speech than one who invites [people] to Allāh, works righteousness, and says, “I am of those who submit [to Allāh]”?
41:34
وَلَا تَسۡتَوِي ٱلۡحَسَنَةُ وَلَا ٱلسَّيِّئَةُۚ ٱدۡفَعۡ بِٱلَّتِي هِيَ أَحۡسَنُ فَإِذَا ٱلَّذِي بَيۡنَكَ وَبَيۡنَهُۥ عَدَٰوَةٞ كَأَنَّهُۥ وَلِيٌّ حَمِيمٞ ٣٤
Goodness and Evil cannot be equal. Repel [Evil] with what is better: Then will he between whom and you was enmity become as it were your intimate friend!
41:35
وَمَا يُلَقَّىٰهَآ إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ صَبَرُواْ وَمَا يُلَقَّىٰهَآ إِلَّا ذُو حَظٍّ عَظِيمٖ ٣٥
And no one will be granted such [goodness] except those who endure patiently; none will be granted it but persons of the great good fortune.
41:36
وَإِمَّا يَنزَغَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ نَزۡغٞ فَٱسۡتَعِذۡ بِٱللَّهِۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ ٣٦
And if [at any time] an incitement [to sin] is made to you by the Shayṭān, seek refuge in Allāh. He is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
41:37
وَمِنۡ ءَايَٰتِهِ ٱلَّيۡلُ وَٱلنَّهَارُ وَٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُۚ لَا تَسۡجُدُواْ لِلشَّمۡسِ وَلَا لِلۡقَمَرِ وَٱسۡجُدُواْۤ لِلَّهِۤ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَهُنَّ إِن كُنتُمۡ إِيَّاهُ تَعۡبُدُونَ ٣٧
Among His Sings are the Night and the Day, and the Sun and the Moon. Prostrate not to the Sun and the Moon, but prostrate to Allāh [alone], who created them, if it is Him you wish to worship.
41:38
فَإِنِ ٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْ فَٱلَّذِينَ عِندَ رَبِّكَ يُسَبِّحُونَ لَهُۥ بِٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ وَهُمۡ لَا يَسۡـَٔمُونَ۩ ٣٨
But if the [Rejecters] are [too] arrogant [to worship Allāh], [no matter]: for in the presence of your Lord are those who celebrate His praises by night and by day, and they never get tired.
41:39
وَمِنۡ ءَايَٰتِهِۦٓ أَنَّكَ تَرَى ٱلۡأَرۡضَ خَٰشِعَةٗ فَإِذَآ أَنزَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهَا ٱلۡمَآءَ ٱهۡتَزَّتۡ وَرَبَتۡۚ إِنَّ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَحۡيَاهَا لَمُحۡيِ ٱلۡمَوۡتَىٰٓۚ إِنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٌ ٣٩
And among His Signs is this: you see the earth humble;1but when We send down rain to it, it is stirred back to life and its yields increase. Truly, He who gives life to the [dead] earth can surely give life to [people] who are dead. For He has [absolute] power over all things.
41:40
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يُلۡحِدُونَ فِيٓ ءَايَٰتِنَا لَا يَخۡفَوۡنَ عَلَيۡنَآۗ أَفَمَن يُلۡقَىٰ فِي ٱلنَّارِ خَيۡرٌ أَم مَّن يَأۡتِيٓ ءَامِنٗا يَوۡمَ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِۚ ٱعۡمَلُواْ مَا شِئۡتُمۡۖ إِنَّهُۥ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ بَصِيرٌ ٤٠
Those who deviate from Our Signs are not hidden from Us. Who is better? He that is cast into the Fire, or he that comes through safe on the Day of Resurrection? [and is told:] “Do what you will!” Verily, He [Allāh] sees well all that you do.
41:41
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِٱلذِّكۡرِ لَمَّا جَآءَهُمۡۖ وَإِنَّهُۥ لَكِتَٰبٌ عَزِيزٞ ٤١
Those who reject the Message when it comes to them [are not hidden from Us]. And indeed it is a Mighty Book.
41:42
لَّا يَأۡتِيهِ ٱلۡبَٰطِلُ مِنۢ بَيۡنِ يَدَيۡهِ وَلَا مِنۡ خَلۡفِهِۦۖ تَنزِيلٞ مِّنۡ حَكِيمٍ حَمِيدٖ ٤٢
No falsehood can approach it from front or from behind it: It is sent down by One [who is] the Most-Wise, the Most-Praiseworthy.
41:43
مَّا يُقَالُ لَكَ إِلَّا مَا قَدۡ قِيلَ لِلرُّسُلِ مِن قَبۡلِكَۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَذُو مَغۡفِرَةٖ وَذُو عِقَابٍ أَلِيمٖ ٤٣
Nothing is said to you that was not said to the Messengers before you: Surely your Lord has at His command [all] Forgiveness as well as most painful Punishment.
41:44
وَلَوۡ جَعَلۡنَٰهُ قُرۡءَانًا أَعۡجَمِيّٗا لَّقَالُواْ لَوۡلَا فُصِّلَتۡ ءَايَٰتُهُۥٓۖ ءَا۬عۡجَمِيّٞ وَعَرَبِيّٞۗ قُلۡ هُوَ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ هُدٗى وَشِفَآءٞۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ فِيٓ ءَاذَانِهِمۡ وَقۡرٞ وَهُوَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ عَمًىۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ يُنَادَوۡنَ مِن مَّكَانِۭ بَعِيدٖ ٤٤
Had We sent this as a Qur’ān [in a language] other than Arabic, they would have said: “Why are not its verses explained in detail?1What! A foreign [tongue] and an Arab [Messenger]?” Say: “It is a guide and healing to those who believe. And for those who believe not, there is deafness in their ears, and blindness in their [eyes]: They are [as it were] being called from a place far distant!”
41:45
وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَا مُوسَى ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ فَٱخۡتُلِفَ فِيهِۗ وَلَوۡلَا كَلِمَةٞ سَبَقَتۡ مِن رَّبِّكَ لَقُضِيَ بَيۡنَهُمۡۚ وَإِنَّهُمۡ لَفِي شَكّٖ مِّنۡهُ مُرِيبٖ ٤٥
We certainly gave Mūsā1the Scripture [aforetime]: but it was disputed. Had it not been for a Word that went forth before from your Lord, [their differences] would have been settled between them: but they remain in suspicious disquieting doubt thereon.
41:46
مَّنۡ عَمِلَ صَٰلِحٗا فَلِنَفۡسِهِۦۖ وَمَنۡ أَسَآءَ فَعَلَيۡهَاۗ وَمَا رَبُّكَ بِظَلَّٰمٖ لِّلۡعَبِيدِ ٤٦
Whoever does righteous deeds benefits his own soul and whoever works evil, it is against his own soul: Your Lord is never unjust in the least to His servants.
41:47
إِلَيۡهِ يُرَدُّ عِلۡمُ ٱلسَّاعَةِۚ وَمَا تَخۡرُجُ مِن ثَمَرَٰتٖ مِّنۡ أَكۡمَامِهَا وَمَا تَحۡمِلُ مِنۡ أُنثَىٰ وَلَا تَضَعُ إِلَّا بِعِلۡمِهِۦۚ وَيَوۡمَ يُنَادِيهِمۡ أَيۡنَ شُرَكَآءِي قَالُوٓاْ ءَاذَنَّٰكَ مَا مِنَّا مِن شَهِيدٖ ٤٧
To Him is referred the Knowledge of the Hour.1[He knows all]: No fruit comes out of its sheath, nor does a female conceive [in her womb] nor bring forth [its young] but by His Knowledge. The Day that [Allāh] will call out to them: “Where are the Partners [you attributed] to Me?” They will say, “We declare it to You that none of us can bear witness!”2
41:48
وَضَلَّ عَنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ يَدۡعُونَ مِن قَبۡلُۖ وَظَنُّواْ مَا لَهُم مِّن مَّحِيصٖ ٤٨
The [deities] they used to invoke aforetime will leave them in the lurch, and they will perceive that they have no place of refuge.
41:49
لَّا يَسۡـَٔمُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مِن دُعَآءِ ٱلۡخَيۡرِ وَإِن مَّسَّهُ ٱلشَّرُّ فَيَـُٔوسٞ قَنُوطٞ ٤٩
Man does not weary of asking for good [things], but if ill touches him, he gives up all hope [and] is lost in despair.
41:50
وَلَئِنۡ أَذَقۡنَٰهُ رَحۡمَةٗ مِّنَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ضَرَّآءَ مَسَّتۡهُ لَيَقُولَنَّ هَٰذَا لِي وَمَآ أَظُنُّ ٱلسَّاعَةَ قَآئِمَةٗ وَلَئِن رُّجِعۡتُ إِلَىٰ رَبِّيٓ إِنَّ لِي عِندَهُۥ لَلۡحُسۡنَىٰۚ فَلَنُنَبِّئَنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِمَا عَمِلُواْ وَلَنُذِيقَنَّهُم مِّنۡ عَذَابٍ غَلِيظٖ ٥٠
If We give him a taste of some mercy from Us after some adversity has touched him, he is sure to say, “This is due to my [merit]: I think not that the Hour [of Judgement] will [ever] be established; but if I am brought back to my Lord, I have [much] good [stored] in His sight!” But We will certainly show the Rejecters the truth of all that they did, and We shall give them the taste of a Punishment most painful.
41:51
وَإِذَآ أَنۡعَمۡنَا عَلَى ٱلۡإِنسَٰنِ أَعۡرَضَ وَنَـَٔا بِجَانِبِهِۦ وَإِذَا مَسَّهُ ٱلشَّرُّ فَذُو دُعَآءٍ عَرِيضٖ ٥١
When We bestow favours on Man, he turns away, and gets farther [instead of coming closer to Us]; and when evil touches him, [he becomes] full of prolonged prayer!
41:52
قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِن كَانَ مِنۡ عِندِ ٱللَّهِ ثُمَّ كَفَرۡتُم بِهِۦ مَنۡ أَضَلُّ مِمَّنۡ هُوَ فِي شِقَاقِۭ بَعِيدٖ ٥٢
Say [O Prophet]: “See you if the [Revelation] is [really] from Allāh, and yet you do reject it? Who is more astray than one who is in a schism far [from the Right Path]?”
41:53
سَنُرِيهِمۡ ءَايَٰتِنَا فِي ٱلۡأٓفَاقِ وَفِيٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمۡ أَنَّهُ ٱلۡحَقُّۗ أَوَلَمۡ يَكۡفِ بِرَبِّكَ أَنَّهُۥ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ شَهِيدٌ ٥٣
Soon will We show them our Signs in the [furthest] regions [of the Universe], and in their own selves, until it becomes manifest to them that this is the Truth.1Is it not enough that your Sustainer does witness all things?
41:54
أَلَآ إِنَّهُمۡ فِي مِرۡيَةٖ مِّن لِّقَآءِ رَبِّهِمۡۗ أَلَآ إِنَّهُۥ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٖ مُّحِيطُۢ ٥٤
Ah indeed! They are in doubt concerning the meeting with their Lord! Ah indeed! It is He that ever-encompasses round all things!
