سُورَةُ الذَّارِيَاتِ51. The Winnowing Winds
51:31
قَالَ فَمَا خَطۡبُكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلۡمُرۡسَلُونَ ٣١
[Ibrāhīm] said: “And [now] what is your affair, O You Messengers?”
51:32
قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّآ أُرۡسِلۡنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوۡمٖ مُّجۡرِمِينَ ٣٢
They said, “We have been sent to a people given to sin;
51:33
لِنُرۡسِلَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ حِجَارَةٗ مِّن طِينٖ ٣٣
“To bring on, on them [a shower of] stones of [baked] clay,
51:34
مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ ٣٤
“marked as from your Lord for the transgressors.”
51:35
فَأَخۡرَجۡنَا مَن كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ ٣٥
So we evacuated those of the believers who were there,
51:36
فَمَا وَجَدۡنَا فِيهَا غَيۡرَ بَيۡتٖ مِّنَ ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ ٣٦
but We found none there except one household submitting [to Allāh]:
51:37
وَتَرَكۡنَا فِيهَآ ءَايَةٗ لِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَلِيمَ ٣٧
and We left therein a Sign for such as fear the painful Punishment.
51:38
وَفِي مُوسَىٰٓ إِذۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَٰهُ إِلَىٰ فِرۡعَوۡنَ بِسُلۡطَٰنٖ مُّبِينٖ ٣٨
And in Mūsā[was another Sign]: Behold, We sent him to the Pharaoh,with authority manifest.
51:39
فَتَوَلَّىٰ بِرُكۡنِهِۦ وَقَالَ سَٰحِرٌ أَوۡ مَجۡنُونٞ ٣٩
But [Pharaoh] turned back relying on his strong party [his people and soldiers], and said, “[This is] a magician, or one bewitched!”
51:40
فَأَخَذۡنَٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذۡنَٰهُمۡ فِي ٱلۡيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٞ ٤٠
So We seized him and his forces, and threw them into the sea: and he was to blame.
51:41
وَفِي عَادٍ إِذۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلرِّيحَ ٱلۡعَقِيمَ ٤١
And in the ‘Ād [people][was another Sign]: Behold, We sent against them the barren [destructive] Wind:
51:42
مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَيۡءٍ أَتَتۡ عَلَيۡهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتۡهُ كَٱلرَّمِيمِ ٤٢
It left nothing whatever that it came up against, but made it like old and decayed [bones].
51:43
وَفِي ثَمُودَ إِذۡ قِيلَ لَهُمۡ تَمَتَّعُواْ حَتَّىٰ حِينٖ ٤٣
And in the [people of] the Thamūd[was another Sign]: Behold, they were told, “Enjoy [your sojourn] for a little while!”
51:44
فَعَتَوۡاْ عَنۡ أَمۡرِ رَبِّهِمۡ فَأَخَذَتۡهُمُ ٱلصَّٰعِقَةُ وَهُمۡ يَنظُرُونَ ٤٤
But they defied the Command of their Lord: so the thunderbolt seized them, even while they were looking on.
51:45
فَمَا ٱسۡتَطَٰعُواْ مِن قِيَامٖ وَمَا كَانُواْ مُنتَصِرِينَ ٤٥
Then they could not even stand [on their feet], nor could they help themselves.
51:46
وَقَوۡمَ نُوحٖ مِّن قَبۡلُۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَوۡمٗا فَٰسِقِينَ ٤٦
So were the People of Nūḥbefore them: for they were a people given to transgression.
51:47
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بَنَيۡنَٰهَا بِأَيۡيْدٖ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ ٤٧
We have built the heaven with might: and We indeed are expanding [it].
51:48
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ فَرَشۡنَٰهَا فَنِعۡمَ ٱلۡمَٰهِدُونَ ٤٨
And We have spread out the [spacious] earth: How excellently have We spread it out!
51:49
وَمِن كُلِّ شَيۡءٍ خَلَقۡنَا زَوۡجَيۡنِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَذَكَّرُونَ ٤٩
And of everything We have created pairs:that you may reflect.
51:50
فَفِرُّوٓاْ إِلَى ٱللَّهِۖ إِنِّي لَكُم مِّنۡهُ نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ ٥٠
Therefore, hasten to [embrace the Message of] Allāh: I [the Prophet] am from Him a clear Warner to you!
51:51
وَلَا تَجۡعَلُواْ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَٰهًا ءَاخَرَۖ إِنِّي لَكُم مِّنۡهُ نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ ٥١
And make not another god [an object of worship] along with Allāh: I am from Him a clear Warner to you!
51:52
كَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَتَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُواْ سَاحِرٌ أَوۡ مَجۡنُونٌ ٥٢
Similarly, no Messenger did [ever] come to the people before them, but they said [of him, in like manner], “a magician, or one bewitched!”
51:53
أَتَوَاصَوۡاْ بِهِۦۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ قَوۡمٞ طَاغُونَ ٥٣
Is this the legacy they have transmitted, one to another?Nay, they are themselves a people transgressing beyond bounds!
51:54
فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِمَلُومٖ ٥٤
So [O Prophet] turn away from them: you are not to blame.
51:55
وَذَكِّرۡ فَإِنَّ ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ تَنفَعُ ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ ٥٥
And remind: for reminding benefits the Believers.
51:56
وَمَا خَلَقۡتُ ٱلۡجِنَّ وَٱلۡإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعۡبُدُونِ ٥٦
I have created Jinnsand humans, only so that they may worship Me.
51:57
مَآ أُرِيدُ مِنۡهُم مِّن رِّزۡقٖ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن يُطۡعِمُونِ ٥٧
No Sustenance do I require of them, nor do I require that they should feed Me.
51:58
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلۡقُوَّةِ ٱلۡمَتِينُ ٥٨
Allāh [alone] is the One who gives [all] Sustenance,Lord-of-Power, The Strong.
51:59
فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ ذَنُوبٗا مِّثۡلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصۡحَٰبِهِمۡ فَلَا يَسۡتَعۡجِلُونِ ٥٩
As for the wrongdoers, their portion of sins is similar to the portion of their fellows [of earlier generations]: so let them not ask Me to hasten [their fate]!
51:60
فَوَيۡلٞ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ مِن يَوۡمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِي يُوعَدُونَ ٦٠
Woe, then, to the Rejecters [of the Message], from that Day of theirs which they are being warned about!
سُورَةُ الطُّورِ52. The Mountain
52:1
وَٱلطُّورِ ١
By the Mountain;
52:2
وَكِتَٰبٖ مَّسۡطُورٖ ٢
By a Book inscribed
52:3
فِي رَقّٖ مَّنشُورٖ ٣
in a parchment unfolded;
52:4
وَٱلۡبَيۡتِ ٱلۡمَعۡمُورِ ٤
By the Overflowing House;
52:5
وَٱلسَّقۡفِ ٱلۡمَرۡفُوعِ ٥
By the Canopy Raised High;
52:6
وَٱلۡبَحۡرِ ٱلۡمَسۡجُورِ ٦
And by the Ocean set on fire;
52:7
إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَٰقِعٞ ٧
Verily, the Punishment of your Lord will indeed come to pass;
52:8
مَّا لَهُۥ مِن دَافِعٖ ٨
none can avert it;
52:9
يَوۡمَ تَمُورُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ مَوۡرٗا ٩
On the Day when the heaven will be in dreadful commotion.
52:10
وَتَسِيرُ ٱلۡجِبَالُ سَيۡرٗا ١٠
And the mountains will move [aimlessly].
52:11
فَوَيۡلٞ يَوۡمَئِذٖ لِّلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ ١١
So woe that Day to the disbelievers [of Truth];
52:12
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمۡ فِي خَوۡضٖ يَلۡعَبُونَ ١٢
those who play [and paddle] in shallow trifles.
52:13
يَوۡمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا ١٣
That Day shall they be pushed down to the Fire of Hell, irresistibly.
52:14
هَٰذِهِ ٱلنَّارُ ٱلَّتِي كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ ١٤
[They will be told:] “This is the Fire, which you were wont to disbelieve!
52:15
أَفَسِحۡرٌ هَٰذَآ أَمۡ أَنتُمۡ لَا تُبۡصِرُونَ ١٥
“Is this then magic, or is it you that do not see?”
52:16
ٱصۡلَوۡهَا فَٱصۡبِرُوٓاْ أَوۡ لَا تَصۡبِرُواْ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيۡكُمۡۖ إِنَّمَا تُجۡزَوۡنَ مَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ ١٦
“Burn you therein: the same is it to you whether you endure it with patience, or without patience: You are but rewarded for your [own] deeds.”
52:17
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّٰتٖ وَنَعِيمٖ ١٧
[As to] the [God‐]fearing, they will be in Gardens, and in Bliss,
52:18
فَٰكِهِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمۡ رَبُّهُمۡ وَوَقَىٰهُمۡ رَبُّهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ ١٨
happily enjoying the [Bliss] which their Lord has bestowed on them, and their Lord has saved them from the Punishment of the Fire.
52:19
كُلُواْ وَٱشۡرَبُواْ هَنِيٓـَٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمۡ تَعۡمَلُونَ ١٩
[They will be told:] “Enjoy eating and drinking in bliss, because of your [good] deeds!”
52:20
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مَّصۡفُوفَةٖۖ وَزَوَّجۡنَٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٖ ٢٠
They will recline [with ease] upon couches arranged in ranks; and We shall wed them to maidens with beautiful big, lustrous eyes.
52:21
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَٱتَّبَعَتۡهُمۡ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَٰنٍ أَلۡحَقۡنَا بِهِمۡ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمۡ وَمَآ أَلَتۡنَٰهُم مِّنۡ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَيۡءٖۚ كُلُّ ٱمۡرِيِٕۭ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٞ ٢١
And those who believe and whose progeny follow them in Faith, to them shall We join their families [in Paradise]: and We shall not diminish [the reward] of any of their deeds. Each individual is bound by his deeds.
52:22
وَأَمۡدَدۡنَٰهُم بِفَٰكِهَةٖ وَلَحۡمٖ مِّمَّا يَشۡتَهُونَ ٢٢
And We shall supply to them fruits and meat, anything they shall desire.
52:23
يَتَنَٰزَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأۡسٗا لَّا لَغۡوٞ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأۡثِيمٞ ٢٣
They shall there exchange, one with another, cups free of frivolity, free of sin.
52:24
وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غِلۡمَانٞ لَّهُمۡ كَأَنَّهُمۡ لُؤۡلُؤٞ مَّكۡنُونٞ ٢٤
Round about them will serve, [devoted] to them, youth [handsome] as pearls closely-protected.
52:25
وَأَقۡبَلَ بَعۡضُهُمۡ عَلَىٰ بَعۡضٖ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ ٢٥
They will approach each other, engaging in mutual enquiry.
52:26
قَالُوٓاْ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبۡلُ فِيٓ أَهۡلِنَا مُشۡفِقِينَ ٢٦
They will say: “Aforetime, we were not without fear about [the fate of] our people.
52:27
فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيۡنَا وَوَقَىٰنَا عَذَابَ ٱلسَّمُومِ ٢٧
“So Allāh favoured us and saved us from the Punishment of the Scorching Wind.
52:28
إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبۡلُ نَدۡعُوهُۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلۡبَرُّ ٱلرَّحِيمُ ٢٨
“Truly, earlier we did call unto Him: Truly, He the Beneficent,the Merciful!”
52:29
فَذَكِّرۡ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِنِعۡمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٖ وَلَا مَجۡنُونٍ ٢٩
Therefore, remind [them]! For, by the Grace of your Lord, you [O Prophet] are no soothsayer, nor bewitched.
52:30
أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٞ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِۦ رَيۡبَ ٱلۡمَنُونِ ٣٠
Or do they say: “[He is] a poet! We await for him some calamity [hatched] by Time!”
52:31
قُلۡ تَرَبَّصُواْ فَإِنِّي مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡمُتَرَبِّصِينَ ٣١
Say: “Await you! I too am waiting along with you!”
52:32
أَمۡ تَأۡمُرُهُمۡ أَحۡلَٰمُهُم بِهَٰذَآۚ أَمۡ هُمۡ قَوۡمٞ طَاغُونَ ٣٢
Is it that their intellects urge them to this, or are they but a people transgressing beyond bounds?
52:33
أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُۥۚ بَل لَّا يُؤۡمِنُونَ ٣٣
Or do they say, “He fabricated the [Message]?” Nay, they have no faith!
52:34
فَلۡيَأۡتُواْ بِحَدِيثٖ مِّثۡلِهِۦٓ إِن كَانُواْ صَٰدِقِينَ ٣٤
So, let them produce a saying like it, if they speak the truth!
52:35
أَمۡ خُلِقُواْ مِنۡ غَيۡرِ شَيۡءٍ أَمۡ هُمُ ٱلۡخَٰلِقُونَ ٣٥
Were they created out of nothing, or were they themselves the creators?
52:36
أَمۡ خَلَقُواْ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَۚ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُونَ ٣٦
Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Nay, they have no firm belief.
52:37
أَمۡ عِندَهُمۡ خَزَآئِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمۡ هُمُ ٱلۡمُصَۜيۡطِرُونَ ٣٧
Or are the Treasures of your Lord with them, or are they the [absolute] controllers [over the treasures].
52:38
أَمۡ لَهُمۡ سُلَّمٞ يَسۡتَمِعُونَ فِيهِۖ فَلۡيَأۡتِ مُسۡتَمِعُهُم بِسُلۡطَٰنٖ مُّبِينٍ ٣٨
Or have they a ladder, by which they [climb up to heaven and] listen [to its secrets]? Then let [such a] listener of theirs produce a manifest proof.
52:39
أَمۡ لَهُ ٱلۡبَنَٰتُ وَلَكُمُ ٱلۡبَنُونَ ٣٩
Or has He [God] only daughters and you have sons?
52:40
أَمۡ تَسۡـَٔلُهُمۡ أَجۡرٗا فَهُم مِّن مَّغۡرَمٖ مُّثۡقَلُونَ ٤٠
Or is it that you [O Prophet] do ask them for a remuneration [for conveying the Message], so they are ever burdened with a load of debt?
52:41
أَمۡ عِندَهُمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبُ فَهُمۡ يَكۡتُبُونَ ٤١
Or is the [knowledge of the] Unseen with them, and they write [it] down?
52:42
أَمۡ يُرِيدُونَ كَيۡدٗاۖ فَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ هُمُ ٱلۡمَكِيدُونَ ٤٢
Or do they intend a plot [against you]? But the Rejecters are themselves ensnared [in a plot].
52:43
أَمۡ لَهُمۡ إِلَٰهٌ غَيۡرُ ٱللَّهِۚ سُبۡحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشۡرِكُونَ ٤٣
Or they have a god other than Allāh? Exalted is Allāh, far above the things they associate Him with!
52:44
وَإِن يَرَوۡاْ كِسۡفٗا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ سَاقِطٗا يَقُولُواْ سَحَابٞ مَّرۡكُومٞ ٤٤
Were they to see pieces of the sky falling [on them], they would [only] say: “Clouds gathered in heaps!”
52:45
فَذَرۡهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ يُلَٰقُواْ يَوۡمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِي فِيهِ يُصۡعَقُونَ ٤٥
So leave them alone until they encounter that Day of theirs, wherein they shall be thunderstruck,
52:46
يَوۡمَ لَا يُغۡنِي عَنۡهُمۡ كَيۡدُهُمۡ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا هُمۡ يُنصَرُونَ ٤٦
the Day when their plotting will avail them nothing and no help shall be given them.
52:47
وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ عَذَابٗا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ٤٧
And verily, for those who did wrong, there is further punishment besides this:but most of them know not.
52:48
وَٱصۡبِرۡ لِحُكۡمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعۡيُنِنَاۖ وَسَبِّحۡ بِحَمۡدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ ٤٨
And await in patience the command of your Lord: For, verily, you [O Prophet] are in Our eyes: And celebrate the praises of your Lord the while you stand forth,
52:49
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيۡلِ فَسَبِّحۡهُ وَإِدۡبَٰرَ ٱلنُّجُومِ ٤٩
And for part of the night [also] glorify Him, and at the setting of the stars!
سُورَةُ النَّجۡمِ53. The Star
53:1
وَٱلنَّجۡمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ ١
By the Starwhen it goes down,
53:2
مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمۡ وَمَا غَوَىٰ ٢
Your Companionhas neither gone astray nor is he misled.
53:3
وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلۡهَوَىٰٓ ٣
Nor does he say [anything] out of [his] whims.
53:4
إِنۡ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحۡيٞ يُوحَىٰ ٤
It is nothing but a revelation sent down to him:
53:5
عَلَّمَهُۥ شَدِيدُ ٱلۡقُوَىٰ ٥
It has been taught to him by the Mighty-in-Power,
53:6
ذُو مِرَّةٖ فَٱسۡتَوَىٰ ٦
[the One] Endowed-with-Power:he appeared [in stately form];
53:7
وَهُوَ بِٱلۡأُفُقِ ٱلۡأَعۡلَىٰ ٧
While He [Jibrīl] was in the highest part of the horizon:
53:8
ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰ ٨
Then He [Jibrīl] approached and came closer [to the Prophet],
53:9
فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوۡسَيۡنِ أَوۡ أَدۡنَىٰ ٩
until he was at a distance of but two bow-lengths or [even] closer;
53:10
فَأَوۡحَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ عَبۡدِهِۦ مَآ أَوۡحَىٰ ١٠
So He [Allāh] revealed to His servant [the Prophet] what He [meant] to reveal.
53:11
مَا كَذَبَ ٱلۡفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰٓ ١١
The [Prophet’s] heart in no way lied about what he saw.
53:12
أَفَتُمَٰرُونَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَا يَرَىٰ ١٢
Will you then dispute with him concerning what he saw?
53:13
وَلَقَدۡ رَءَاهُ نَزۡلَةً أُخۡرَىٰ ١٣
For indeed he [the Prophet] saw him [Jibrīl] at a second descent,
53:14
عِندَ سِدۡرَةِ ٱلۡمُنتَهَىٰ ١٤
at the Lote-Treeat the Final Boundary.
53:15
عِندَهَا جَنَّةُ ٱلۡمَأۡوَىٰٓ ١٥
Near it is the Paradise of [Eternal] Abode.
53:16
إِذۡ يَغۡشَى ٱلسِّدۡرَةَ مَا يَغۡشَىٰ ١٦
Behold, the Lote-Tree was shrouded with what shrouds [it].
53:17
مَا زَاغَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَىٰ ١٧
[The Prophet’s] sight never swerved, nor did it transgress [any limits]!
53:18
لَقَدۡ رَأَىٰ مِنۡ ءَايَٰتِ رَبِّهِ ٱلۡكُبۡرَىٰٓ ١٨
For truly did he see [a glimpse] of the Greatest Signs of his Lord!
53:19
أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱللَّٰتَ وَٱلۡعُزَّىٰ ١٩
Then have you seen the Lāt and the ‘Uzzā,
53:20
وَمَنَوٰةَ ٱلثَّالِثَةَ ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰٓ ٢٠
and another, the third [goddess], Manāt?
53:21
أَلَكُمُ ٱلذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ ٱلۡأُنثَىٰ ٢١
What! For you the male, and for Him [God], the female?
53:22
تِلۡكَ إِذٗا قِسۡمَةٞ ضِيزَىٰٓ ٢٢
Behold, such would indeed be a division most unjust!
53:23
إِنۡ هِيَ إِلَّآ أَسۡمَآءٞ سَمَّيۡتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلۡطَٰنٍۚ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهۡوَى ٱلۡأَنفُسُۖ وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ ٱلۡهُدَىٰٓ ٢٣
These are nothing but names which you have devised, you and your fathers, for which Allāh has sent down no authority whatever. They follow nothing but conjecture and what [their] souls desire, even though there has already come to them the Guidance from their Lord!
53:24
أَمۡ لِلۡإِنسَٰنِ مَا تَمَنَّىٰ ٢٤
Nay, shall Man have [just] anything he hankers for?
53:25
فَلِلَّهِ ٱلۡأٓخِرَةُ وَٱلۡأُولَىٰ ٢٥
Verily, to Allāh alone belongs the Hereafter and the former life [on earth].
53:26
وَكَم مِّن مَّلَكٖ فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ لَا تُغۡنِي شَفَٰعَتُهُمۡ شَيۡـًٔا إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعۡدِ أَن يَأۡذَنَ ٱللَّهُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَرۡضَىٰٓ ٢٦
How many-so-ever are the angels in the heavens whose intercession will avail nothing except after Allāh has given leave for whom He pleases and is acceptable to Him.
53:27
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ لَيُسَمُّونَ ٱلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةَ تَسۡمِيَةَ ٱلۡأُنثَىٰ ٢٧
Those who believe not in the Hereafter, give the angels female names.
53:28
وَمَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنۡ عِلۡمٍۖ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّۖ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا يُغۡنِي مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّ شَيۡـٔٗا ٢٨
They have no knowledge thereof. They follow nothing but conjecture; and conjecture avails nothing against Truth.
53:29
فَأَعۡرِضۡ عَن مَّن تَوَلَّىٰ عَن ذِكۡرِنَا وَلَمۡ يُرِدۡ إِلَّا ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا ٢٩
So shun those who turn away from Our Message and desire nothing but the life of this world.
53:30
ذَٰلِكَ مَبۡلَغُهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡعِلۡمِۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱهۡتَدَىٰ ٣٠
That is the limit of their knowledge. Verily, your Lord knows best those who strays from His path, and He knows best the one who is guided.
53:31
وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ لِيَجۡزِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسَٰٓـُٔواْ بِمَا عَمِلُواْ وَيَجۡزِيَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَحۡسَنُواْ بِٱلۡحُسۡنَى ٣١
To Allāh belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth: so that He rewards those who do evil, according to their deeds, and He rewards those who do good, with what is best.
53:32
ٱلَّذِينَ يَجۡتَنِبُونَ كَبَٰٓئِرَ ٱلۡإِثۡمِ وَٱلۡفَوَٰحِشَ إِلَّا ٱللَّمَمَۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ وَٰسِعُ ٱلۡمَغۡفِرَةِۚ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِكُمۡ إِذۡ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَإِذۡ أَنتُمۡ أَجِنَّةٞ فِي بُطُونِ أُمَّهَٰتِكُمۡۖ فَلَا تُزَكُّوٓاْ أَنفُسَكُمۡۖ هُوَ أَعۡلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰٓ ٣٢
[Believers are] those who avoid Major Sinsand indecent deeds, save minor sins.Verily, your Lord is vast in forgiveness. He knows you well when He brought you out of the earth, and when you were foetuses in your mothers’ wombs. So, hold not yourselves purified:He knows best who it is that guards against evil.
53:33
أَفَرَءَيۡتَ ٱلَّذِي تَوَلَّىٰ ٣٣
See you the one who turned back,
53:34
وَأَعۡطَىٰ قَلِيلٗا وَأَكۡدَىٰٓ ٣٤
who gave a little, then abstained?
53:35
أَعِندَهُۥ عِلۡمُ ٱلۡغَيۡبِ فَهُوَ يَرَىٰٓ ٣٥
What! Has he the knowledge of the Unseen, so that he can see [what others don’t]?
53:36
أَمۡ لَمۡ يُنَبَّأۡ بِمَا فِي صُحُفِ مُوسَىٰ ٣٦
Nay, has he not been informed about what is in the Scriptures of Mūsā,
53:37
وَإِبۡرَٰهِيمَ ٱلَّذِي وَفَّىٰٓ ٣٧
and of Ibrāhīmwho fulfilled [the divine commandments revealed to him],
53:38
أَلَّا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٞ وِزۡرَ أُخۡرَىٰ ٣٨
[namely,] that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another;
53:39
وَأَن لَّيۡسَ لِلۡإِنسَٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ ٣٩
that Man can have nothing but what he strove for;
53:40
وَأَنَّ سَعۡيَهُۥ سَوۡفَ يُرَىٰ ٤٠
that [the fruit of] his striving will soon come in sight;
53:41
ثُمَّ يُجۡزَىٰهُ ٱلۡجَزَآءَ ٱلۡأَوۡفَىٰ ٤١
then will he be rewarded with a reward most complete;
53:42
وَأَنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡمُنتَهَىٰ ٤٢
that to your Lord is the Final Destination;
53:43
وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَضۡحَكَ وَأَبۡكَىٰ ٤٣
that it is He [God] who grants laughter and tears;
53:44
وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَمَاتَ وَأَحۡيَا ٤٤
that it is He who grants Death and Life;
53:45
وَأَنَّهُۥ خَلَقَ ٱلزَّوۡجَيۡنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلۡأُنثَىٰ ٤٥
that it is He who created the pairs — male and female,
53:46
مِن نُّطۡفَةٍ إِذَا تُمۡنَىٰ ٤٦
from a sperm-drop when lodged [in its place];
53:47
وَأَنَّ عَلَيۡهِ ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ ٱلۡأُخۡرَىٰ ٤٧
that He [Allāh] has promised a Second Creation [raising of the Dead];
53:48
وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَغۡنَىٰ وَأَقۡنَىٰ ٤٨
that it is He who gives [you] wealth and satisfaction;
53:49
وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلشِّعۡرَىٰ ٤٩
that He is the Lord of Sirius [the star];
53:50
وَأَنَّهُۥٓ أَهۡلَكَ عَادًا ٱلۡأُولَىٰ ٥٠
and that it is He who destroyed the [powerful] ancient ‘Ād [people],
53:51
وَثَمُودَاْ فَمَآ أَبۡقَىٰ ٥١
and the Thamūd,so much that He left no trace of them.
53:52
وَقَوۡمَ نُوحٖ مِّن قَبۡلُۖ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ هُمۡ أَظۡلَمَ وَأَطۡغَىٰ ٥٢
And before them, the people of Nūḥ,for they were most wrongful and most insolent transgressors,
53:53
وَٱلۡمُؤۡتَفِكَةَ أَهۡوَىٰ ٥٣
and He destroyed the Overthrown Towns.
53:54
فَغَشَّىٰهَا مَا غَشَّىٰ ٥٤
So that there covered them [the Overthrown Towns] that which covered [them].
53:55
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ ٥٥
Then which of the favours of your Lord, [O Man,] will you dispute about?
53:56
هَٰذَا نَذِيرٞ مِّنَ ٱلنُّذُرِ ٱلۡأُولَىٰٓ ٥٦
This is a Warner, of the [series of] Warners of old!
53:57
أَزِفَتِ ٱلۡأٓزِفَةُ ٥٧
The [Hour] ever approaching draws nigh:
53:58
لَيۡسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌ ٥٨
No one but Allāh can disclose it.
53:59
أَفَمِنۡ هَٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِيثِ تَعۡجَبُونَ ٥٩
Do you then wonder at this recital?
53:60
وَتَضۡحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبۡكُونَ ٦٠
You laugh and do not weep,
53:61
وَأَنتُمۡ سَٰمِدُونَ ٦١
and you are heedless [in false pride]?
53:62
فَٱسۡجُدُواْۤ لِلَّهِۤ وَٱعۡبُدُواْ۩ ٦٢
So fall you down in prostration to Allāh and worship [Him alone]!
سُورَةُ القَمَرِ54. The Moon
54:1
ٱقۡتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلۡقَمَرُ ١
The Houris close, and the Moon was cleft asunder.
54:2
وَإِن يَرَوۡاْ ءَايَةٗ يُعۡرِضُواْ وَيَقُولُواْ سِحۡرٞ مُّسۡتَمِرّٞ ٢
But if they see a Sign, they turn away, and say, “This is [but] continuous magic.”
54:3
وَكَذَّبُواْ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓاْ أَهۡوَآءَهُمۡۚ وَكُلُّ أَمۡرٖ مُّسۡتَقِرّٞ ٣
And they disbelieve [the warning] and follow their whims, but every matter has its appointed time.
54:4
وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَهُم مِّنَ ٱلۡأَنۢبَآءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزۡدَجَرٌ ٤
There have already come to them such tidings as contain a deterrent,
54:5
حِكۡمَةُۢ بَٰلِغَةٞۖ فَمَا تُغۡنِ ٱلنُّذُرُ ٥
a wisdom far-reaching, but [the preaching of] Warners profit [them] not.
54:6
فَتَوَلَّ عَنۡهُمۡۘ يَوۡمَ يَدۡعُ ٱلدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَيۡءٖ نُّكُرٍ ٦
Therefore, [O Prophet,] turn away from them [and wait for] the Day when the Caller will call [them] to a terrible affair.
54:7
خُشَّعًا أَبۡصَٰرُهُمۡ يَخۡرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلۡأَجۡدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمۡ جَرَادٞ مُّنتَشِرٞ ٧
With their eyes humbled, they will come out of [their] graves, [torpid] like scattered locusts,
54:8
مُّهۡطِعِينَ إِلَى ٱلدَّاعِۖ يَقُولُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ هَٰذَا يَوۡمٌ عَسِرٞ ٨
Hastening [with eyes transfixed] towards the Caller — “Hard is this Day!,” the Rejecters will say.
54:9
كَذَّبَتۡ قَبۡلَهُمۡ قَوۡمُ نُوحٖ فَكَذَّبُواْ عَبۡدَنَا وَقَالُواْ مَجۡنُونٞ وَٱزۡدُجِرَ ٩
Before them the People of Nūḥdisbelieved [their Messenger]: they disbelieved Our servant and said, “Here is one bewitched, [who] has been rebuked!”
54:10
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّي مَغۡلُوبٞ فَٱنتَصِرۡ ١٠
So he called on his Lord, [saying:] “I am one overcome: do You then help [me]!”
54:11
فَفَتَحۡنَآ أَبۡوَٰبَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَآءٖ مُّنۡهَمِرٖ ١١
So We opened the gates of sky, with water pouring down,
54:12
وَفَجَّرۡنَا ٱلۡأَرۡضَ عُيُونٗا فَٱلۡتَقَى ٱلۡمَآءُ عَلَىٰٓ أَمۡرٖ قَدۡ قُدِرَ ١٢
and We caused the earth to gush forth with springs, so the waters met [and rose] to execute an affair destined,
54:13
وَحَمَلۡنَٰهُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلۡوَٰحٖ وَدُسُرٖ ١٣
and We bore him [Nūḥ] on [an Ark] made of broad planks and nails:
54:14
تَجۡرِي بِأَعۡيُنِنَا جَزَآءٗ لِّمَن كَانَ كُفِرَ ١٤
It sailed under Our eyes [and care:] a recompense to one who had been rejected [with scorn]!
54:15
وَلَقَد تَّرَكۡنَٰهَآ ءَايَةٗ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ ١٥
And We have left it as a Sign [for all time]: so is there any that will receive admonition?
54:16
فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ١٦
So how [terrible] was My Punishment and My Warnings?
54:17
وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ ١٧
And We have indeed made the Qur’ān easy to understand [and remember]: then is there any that will receive admonition?
54:18
كَذَّبَتۡ عَادٞ فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ١٨
The ‘Ād [people][too] disbelieved [Truth]: so how terrible was My Punishment and My Warnings?
54:19
إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ رِيحٗا صَرۡصَرٗا فِي يَوۡمِ نَحۡسٖ مُّسۡتَمِرّٖ ١٩
We sent against them a furious cold wind, on a Day of continuous misfortune,
54:20
تَنزِعُ ٱلنَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمۡ أَعۡجَازُ نَخۡلٖ مُّنقَعِرٖ ٢٠
which plucked out people as if they were lower parts of palm-trees, uprooted.
54:21
فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ٢١
So, how [terrible] was My Punishment and My Warnings!
54:22
وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ ٢٢
And We have indeed made the Qur’ān easy to understand [and remember]: So is there any that will receive admonition?
54:23
كَذَّبَتۡ ثَمُودُ بِٱلنُّذُرِ ٢٣
The Thamūd[too] disbelieved the Warnings.
54:24
فَقَالُوٓاْ أَبَشَرٗا مِّنَّا وَٰحِدٗا نَّتَّبِعُهُۥٓ إِنَّآ إِذٗا لَّفِي ضَلَٰلٖ وَسُعُرٍ ٢٤
For they said: “What! A human! A solitary one from among ourselves! Shall we follow such a one? If we did, then, truly, we suffer from deviation and madness.
54:25
أَءُلۡقِيَ ٱلذِّكۡرُ عَلَيۡهِ مِنۢ بَيۡنِنَا بَلۡ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٞ ٢٥
“Is it that the Message is revealed to him, [of all people] amongst us? Nay, he is a liar, insolently exulting!”
54:26
سَيَعۡلَمُونَ غَدٗا مَّنِ ٱلۡكَذَّابُ ٱلۡأَشِرُ ٢٦
Ah! They will know on the morrow, who is the liar, insolently exulting!
54:27
إِنَّا مُرۡسِلُواْ ٱلنَّاقَةِ فِتۡنَةٗ لَّهُمۡ فَٱرۡتَقِبۡهُمۡ وَٱصۡطَبِرۡ ٢٧
For We will send the she-camel by way of trial for them.So watch them [O Ṣāliḥ], and endure patiently!
54:28
وَنَبِّئۡهُمۡ أَنَّ ٱلۡمَآءَ قِسۡمَةُۢ بَيۡنَهُمۡۖ كُلُّ شِرۡبٖ مُّحۡتَضَرٞ ٢٨
And inform them that the water is to be divided between them: each one’s right to drink shall be in turns.
54:29
فَنَادَوۡاْ صَاحِبَهُمۡ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ ٢٩
But they called their companion; and he took [a sword] in hand, and slaughtered [her].
54:30
فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ٣٠
So how [terrible] was My Punishment and My Warnings!
54:31
إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ صَيۡحَةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ فَكَانُواْ كَهَشِيمِ ٱلۡمُحۡتَظِرِ ٣١
We sent against them a single Mighty Blast, and they became like the dry stubble used by the worker of an animal’s enclosure.
54:32
وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ ٣٢
And We have indeed made the Qur’ān easy to understand and remember: So is there any that will receive admonition?
54:33
كَذَّبَتۡ قَوۡمُ لُوطِۭ بِٱلنُّذُرِ ٣٣
The People of Lūṭdisbelieved the Warnings.
54:34
إِنَّآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ حَاصِبًا إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٖۖ نَّجَّيۡنَٰهُم بِسَحَرٖ ٣٤
We sent against them a [violent] wind bearing pebbles [which destroyed them], except Lūṭ’s household: them We saved by early dawn,
54:35
نِّعۡمَةٗ مِّنۡ عِندِنَاۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي مَن شَكَرَ ٣٥
as a Grace from Us: Thus do We reward those who are grateful.
54:36
وَلَقَدۡ أَنذَرَهُم بَطۡشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوۡاْ بِٱلنُّذُرِ ٣٦
And [Lūṭ] did warn them of Our [mighty] Seizure but they disbelieved the Warnings.
54:37
وَلَقَدۡ رَٰوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيۡفِهِۦ فَطَمَسۡنَآ أَعۡيُنَهُمۡ فَذُوقُواْ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ٣٧
And they [even] sought to entice away his guestsfrom him, so We blinded their eyes. [They were told:] “Now taste you My Wrath and My Warnings.”
54:38
وَلَقَدۡ صَبَّحَهُم بُكۡرَةً عَذَابٞ مُّسۡتَقِرّٞ ٣٨
Early on the morrow an abiding Punishment seized them:
54:39
فَذُوقُواْ عَذَابِي وَنُذُرِ ٣٩
[They were told:] “So taste you My Punishment and My Warnings.”
54:40
وَلَقَدۡ يَسَّرۡنَا ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ لِلذِّكۡرِ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ ٤٠
And We have indeed made the Qur’ān easy to understand and remember: So is there any that will receive admonition?
54:41
وَلَقَدۡ جَآءَ ءَالَ فِرۡعَوۡنَ ٱلنُّذُرُ ٤١
To the people of the Pharaoh,too, aforetime, came Warners [from Allāh].
54:42
كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذۡنَٰهُمۡ أَخۡذَ عَزِيزٖ مُّقۡتَدِرٍ ٤٢
They disbelieved all Our Signs [Miracles]; so We seized them with the Seizure of a Mighty, All-Powerful.
54:43
أَكُفَّارُكُمۡ خَيۡرٞ مِّنۡ أُوْلَٰٓئِكُمۡ أَمۡ لَكُم بَرَآءَةٞ فِي ٱلزُّبُرِ ٤٣
Are your Rejecters [O Quraysh], better than them? Or do you have an immunity [recorded] in the Sacred Books?
54:44
أَمۡ يَقُولُونَ نَحۡنُ جَمِيعٞ مُّنتَصِرٞ ٤٤
Or do they say: “Acting together, we will be triumphant”?
54:45
سَيُهۡزَمُ ٱلۡجَمۡعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ ٱلدُّبُرَ ٤٥
Soon will their multitude be defeated, and they will show their backs.
54:46
بَلِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ مَوۡعِدُهُمۡ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدۡهَىٰ وَأَمَرُّ ٤٦
Nay, the Hour [of Judgement] is the time promised them [for their full recompense]: and that Hour will be most grievous and most bitter.
54:47
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمِينَ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ وَسُعُرٖ ٤٧
Truly, [that Day] the sinnerswill be in deviation and fire of Hell.
54:48
يَوۡمَ يُسۡحَبُونَ فِي ٱلنَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمۡ ذُوقُواْ مَسَّ سَقَرَ ٤٨
The Day they will be dragged through the Fire on their faces [and will be told:] “Taste you the touch of Hell!”
54:49
إِنَّا كُلَّ شَيۡءٍ خَلَقۡنَٰهُ بِقَدَرٖ ٤٩
Verily, all things We have created are in [due] proportion and measure.
54:50
وَمَآ أَمۡرُنَآ إِلَّا وَٰحِدَةٞ كَلَمۡحِۭ بِٱلۡبَصَرِ ٥٠
And Our Command is but a single [Word],like the twinkling of an eye.
54:51
وَلَقَدۡ أَهۡلَكۡنَآ أَشۡيَاعَكُمۡ فَهَلۡ مِن مُّدَّكِرٖ ٥١
And [oft] in the past, have We destroyed gangs like unto you: then is there any that will receive admonition?
54:52
وَكُلُّ شَيۡءٖ فَعَلُوهُ فِي ٱلزُّبُرِ ٥٢
All that they do is recorded in [their] Books [of deeds]:
54:53
وَكُلُّ صَغِيرٖ وَكَبِيرٖ مُّسۡتَطَرٌ ٥٣
Every matter, small and big, is on record.
54:54
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّٰتٖ وَنَهَرٖ ٥٤
As to the [God‐]fearing, they will be in the midst of Gardens and rivers,
54:55
فِي مَقۡعَدِ صِدۡقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٖ مُّقۡتَدِرِۭ ٥٥
In a true abode next to a Sovereign Omnipotent.
سُورَةُ الرَّحۡمَٰن55. The Most-Gracious
55:1
ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ ١
[Allāh] The Most-Gracious!
55:2
عَلَّمَ ٱلۡقُرۡءَانَ ٢
It is He who taught the Qur’ān.
55:3
خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ ٣
He created Man:
55:4
عَلَّمَهُ ٱلۡبَيَانَ ٤
He taught him [intelligent] speech.
55:5
ٱلشَّمۡسُ وَٱلۡقَمَرُ بِحُسۡبَانٖ ٥
The Sun and the Moon follow courses [exactly] fixed;
55:6
وَٱلنَّجۡمُ وَٱلشَّجَرُ يَسۡجُدَانِ ٦
And the [creeping] herbs and the trees,both [alike] bow [to Allāh in adoration].
55:7
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلۡمِيزَانَ ٧
And the Firmament He raised high, and He set up the Balance [of Justice],
55:8
أَلَّا تَطۡغَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡمِيزَانِ ٨
In order that you may not transgress [due] balance [of Justice].
55:9
وَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلۡوَزۡنَ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِ وَلَا تُخۡسِرُواْ ٱلۡمِيزَانَ ٩
So establish weight with justice and cause not shortage in the balance.
55:10
وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلۡأَنَامِ ١٠
And He it is who spread out the earth for [His] creatures:
55:11
فِيهَا فَٰكِهَةٞ وَٱلنَّخۡلُ ذَاتُ ٱلۡأَكۡمَامِ ١١
Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes [enclosing dates];
55:12
وَٱلۡحَبُّ ذُو ٱلۡعَصۡفِ وَٱلرَّيۡحَانُ ١٢
Also grain,with [its] leaves [and straw] for fodder, and sweet-smelling plants.
55:13
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ١٣
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of youdisacknowledge?
55:14
خَلَقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنَ مِن صَلۡصَٰلٖ كَٱلۡفَخَّارِ ١٤
He created Man from sounding [unbaked, dry] clay resembling pottery,
55:15
وَخَلَقَ ٱلۡجَآنَّ مِن مَّارِجٖ مِّن نَّارٖ ١٥
And He created Jinns from [pure] mixture of fire, free of flame:
55:16
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ١٦
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:17
رَبُّ ٱلۡمَشۡرِقَيۡنِ وَرَبُّ ٱلۡمَغۡرِبَيۡنِ ١٧
[He is] the Lord of the two Easts and the Lord of the two Wests:
55:18
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ١٨
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:19
مَرَجَ ٱلۡبَحۡرَيۡنِ يَلۡتَقِيَانِ ١٩
He let mix the two seasmeeting together:
55:20
بَيۡنَهُمَا بَرۡزَخٞ لَّا يَبۡغِيَانِ ٢٠
between them is a barrier which they do not transgress:
55:21
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٢١
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:22
يَخۡرُجُ مِنۡهُمَا ٱللُّؤۡلُؤُ وَٱلۡمَرۡجَانُ ٢٢
Out of them come pearls and coral:
55:23
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٢٣
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:24
وَلَهُ ٱلۡجَوَارِ ٱلۡمُنشَـَٔاتُ فِي ٱلۡبَحۡرِ كَٱلۡأَعۡلَٰمِ ٢٤
And His are the ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains
55:25
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٢٥
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:26
كُلُّ مَنۡ عَلَيۡهَا فَانٖ ٢٦
All that is on it [earth] will perish:
55:27
وَيَبۡقَىٰ وَجۡهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلۡجَلَٰلِ وَٱلۡإِكۡرَامِ ٢٧
But will remain [forever, only] the Face of your Lord, Possessor-of-All-Majesty-and-Glory.
55:28
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٢٨
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:29
يَسۡـَٔلُهُۥ مَن فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ كُلَّ يَوۡمٍ هُوَ فِي شَأۡنٖ ٢٩
Of Him seeks [its need] every creature in the heavens and on earth: Every day in [new] splendour does He [shine]!
55:30
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٣٠
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:31
سَنَفۡرُغُ لَكُمۡ أَيُّهَ ٱلثَّقَلَانِ ٣١
Soon shall We devote our attention to you, both you entities!
55:32
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٣٢
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:33
يَٰمَعۡشَرَ ٱلۡجِنِّ وَٱلۡإِنسِ إِنِ ٱسۡتَطَعۡتُمۡ أَن تَنفُذُواْ مِنۡ أَقۡطَارِ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ فَٱنفُذُواْۚ لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلۡطَٰنٖ ٣٣
O You assemblies of Jinns and humans! If you can pass beyond the zones of the heavens and the earth, pass you! Not without power shall you be able to pass!
55:34
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٣٤
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:35
يُرۡسَلُ عَلَيۡكُمَا شُوَاظٞ مِّن نَّارٖ وَنُحَاسٞ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ ٣٥
On you twain will be sent [smokeless] flames of fire [to burn] and a [flash of] molten brass — no defence will you have:
55:36
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٣٦
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:37
فَإِذَا ٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتۡ وَرۡدَةٗ كَٱلدِّهَانِ ٣٧
When the heaven is rent asunder and becomes red like dredge [of olive oil]:
55:38
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٣٨
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:39
فَيَوۡمَئِذٖ لَّا يُسۡـَٔلُ عَن ذَنۢبِهِۦٓ إِنسٞ وَلَا جَآنّٞ ٣٩
On that Day no human or Jinn will be asked a question as to his sin.
55:40
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٤٠
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:41
يُعۡرَفُ ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ بِسِيمَٰهُمۡ فَيُؤۡخَذُ بِٱلنَّوَٰصِي وَٱلۡأَقۡدَامِ ٤١
[For] the sinners will be known by their marks: and they will be seized by their forelocks and their feet.
55:42
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٤٢
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:43
هَٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِي يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ٱلۡمُجۡرِمُونَ ٤٣
This is Hell which the sinners [used to] disbelieve:
55:44
يَطُوفُونَ بَيۡنَهَا وَبَيۡنَ حَمِيمٍ ءَانٖ ٤٤
In its midst and in the midst of boiling hot water will they wander around!
55:45
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٤٥
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:46
وَلِمَنۡ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ ٤٦
But for such as fear the time when they will stand before their Lord,there will be two Gardens,
55:47
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٤٧
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:48
ذَوَاتَآ أَفۡنَانٖ ٤٨
[Both Gardens will be] abounding in branches [of fresh leaves].
55:49
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٤٩
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:50
فِيهِمَا عَيۡنَانِ تَجۡرِيَانِ ٥٠
In both of them will be two Springs flowing [freely].
55:51
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٥١
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:52
فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَٰكِهَةٖ زَوۡجَانِ ٥٢
In them will be fruits of every kind, two pairs of each.
55:53
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٥٣
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:54
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشِۭ بَطَآئِنُهَا مِنۡ إِسۡتَبۡرَقٖۚ وَجَنَى ٱلۡجَنَّتَيۡنِ دَانٖ ٥٤
They will recline on spreads whose inner linings will be of rich brocade: the fruits of the two Gardens will be near [and easy of reach].
55:55
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٥٥
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:56
فِيهِنَّ قَٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرۡفِ لَمۡ يَطۡمِثۡهُنَّ إِنسٞ قَبۡلَهُمۡ وَلَا جَآنّٞ ٥٦
In them will be [maidens] restraining their glances, whom no human or Jinn before them has touched.
55:57
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٥٧
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:58
كَأَنَّهُنَّ ٱلۡيَاقُوتُ وَٱلۡمَرۡجَانُ ٥٨
[Those maidens will be] as if rubies and coral.
55:59
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٥٩
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:60
هَلۡ جَزَآءُ ٱلۡإِحۡسَٰنِ إِلَّا ٱلۡإِحۡسَٰنُ ٦٠
Is there a reward for Good other than Good?
55:61
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٦١
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:62
وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ ٦٢
And besides these two [Gardens], there are two other Gardens.
55:63
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٦٣
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:64
مُدۡهَآمَّتَانِ ٦٤
[These two Gardens are] dark-green in colour [from plentiful watering].
55:65
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٦٥
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:66
فِيهِمَا عَيۡنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ ٦٦
In them [each] are two Springs gushing forth with water in continuous abundance.
55:67
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٦٧
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:68
فِيهِمَا فَٰكِهَةٞ وَنَخۡلٞ وَرُمَّانٞ ٦٨
In them are fruits, and dates and pomegranates.
55:69
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٦٩
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:70
فِيهِنَّ خَيۡرَٰتٌ حِسَانٞ ٧٠
In them will be [companions] nice, beautiful.
55:71
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٧١
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:72
حُورٞ مَّقۡصُورَٰتٞ فِي ٱلۡخِيَامِ ٧٢
Maidens restrained [as to their glances], in [excellent] pavilions.
55:73
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٧٣
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:74
لَمۡ يَطۡمِثۡهُنَّ إِنسٞ قَبۡلَهُمۡ وَلَا جَآنّٞ ٧٤
Whom no human or Jinn before them has touched.
55:75
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٧٥
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:76
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ رَفۡرَفٍ خُضۡرٖ وَعَبۡقَرِيٍّ حِسَانٖ ٧٦
[There they will be] reclining on green cushions and rich carpets of [perfect] beauty.
55:77
فَبِأَيِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ ٧٧
So which of the favours of your Lord will the two of you disacknowledge?
55:78
تَبَٰرَكَ ٱسۡمُ رَبِّكَ ذِي ٱلۡجَلَٰلِ وَٱلۡإِكۡرَامِ ٧٨
Exalted be the name of your Lord, Possessor-of-All-Majesty-and-Glory.
سُورَةُ الوَاقِعَةِ56. The Inevitable
56:1
إِذَا وَقَعَتِ ٱلۡوَاقِعَةُ ١
When the Event Inevitable comes to pass,
56:2
لَيۡسَ لِوَقۡعَتِهَا كَاذِبَةٌ ٢
then will no [soul] deny its taking place.
56:3
خَافِضَةٞ رَّافِعَةٌ ٣
[Many] will it bring low; [many] will it exalt;
56:4
إِذَا رُجَّتِ ٱلۡأَرۡضُ رَجّٗا ٤
When the earth shall be shaken to its depths,
56:5
وَبُسَّتِ ٱلۡجِبَالُ بَسّٗا ٥
And the mountains shall be broken into particles,
56:6
فَكَانَتۡ هَبَآءٗ مُّنۢبَثّٗا ٦
becoming dust scattered all around,
56:7
وَكُنتُمۡ أَزۡوَٰجٗا ثَلَٰثَةٗ ٧
And you shall be sorted out into three groups.
56:8
فَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَيۡمَنَةِ ٨
So [there will be] the People of The Right Hand — what will be the People of the Right Hand?
56:9
وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡمَشۡـَٔمَةِ ٩
And the People of the Left Hand — what will be the People of the Left Hand?
56:10
وَٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ٱلسَّٰبِقُونَ ١٠
And those foremost [in Faith] will be the foremost [in the Hereafter].
56:11
أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبُونَ ١١
Those will be the nearest to Allāh:
56:12
فِي جَنَّٰتِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ ١٢
In Gardens of Bliss:
56:13
ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ ١٣
A group of people from those of old,
56:14
وَقَلِيلٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ ١٤
and a few from those of later times.
56:15
عَلَىٰ سُرُرٖ مَّوۡضُونَةٖ ١٥
[They will be reclining] on couches encrusted [with gold and precious stones],
56:16
مُّتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَيۡهَا مُتَقَٰبِلِينَ ١٦
reclining on them, facing each other.
56:17
يَطُوفُ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وِلۡدَٰنٞ مُّخَلَّدُونَ ١٧
Round about them will [serve] youth of eternal [freshness],
56:18
بِأَكۡوَابٖ وَأَبَارِيقَ وَكَأۡسٖ مِّن مَّعِينٖ ١٨
With goblets, [shining] beakers, and cups [filled] out of a [clear-flowing] spring:
56:19
لَّا يُصَدَّعُونَ عَنۡهَا وَلَا يُنزِفُونَ ١٩
No after-ache will they receive therefrom, nor will they suffer intoxication;
56:20
وَفَٰكِهَةٖ مِّمَّا يَتَخَيَّرُونَ ٢٠
and with fruits, any that they may choose:
56:21
وَلَحۡمِ طَيۡرٖ مِّمَّا يَشۡتَهُونَ ٢١
and the flesh of birds, any that they may desire,
56:22
وَحُورٌ عِينٞ ٢٢
and [there will be] companions with beautiful, big and lustrous eyes,
56:23
كَأَمۡثَٰلِ ٱللُّؤۡلُوِٕ ٱلۡمَكۡنُونِ ٢٣
like unto pearls, well-guarded,
56:24
جَزَآءَۢ بِمَا كَانُواْ يَعۡمَلُونَ ٢٤
a reward for the deeds of their past [life].
56:25
لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغۡوٗا وَلَا تَأۡثِيمًا ٢٥
No frivolity will they hear therein, nor any sinful [talk] —
56:26
إِلَّا قِيلٗا سَلَٰمٗا سَلَٰمٗا ٢٦
[they will hear] only the saying, “Peace! Peace!”
56:27
وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡيَمِينِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡيَمِينِ ٢٧
The People of the Right Hand — what will be the People of the Right Hand?
56:28
فِي سِدۡرٖ مَّخۡضُودٖ ٢٨
[They will be] among thornless lote-trees,
56:29
وَطَلۡحٖ مَّنضُودٖ ٢٩
among Ṭalḥtrees with flowers [or fruits] piled one above another,
56:30
وَظِلّٖ مَّمۡدُودٖ ٣٠
under shades long-extended,
56:31
وَمَآءٖ مَّسۡكُوبٖ ٣١
by water flowing constantly,
56:32
وَفَٰكِهَةٖ كَثِيرَةٖ ٣٢
and fruits in abundance,
56:33
لَّا مَقۡطُوعَةٖ وَلَا مَمۡنُوعَةٖ ٣٣
whose season is not limited, nor [supply] forbidden,
56:34
وَفُرُشٖ مَّرۡفُوعَةٍ ٣٤
and on couches raised high.
56:35
إِنَّآ أَنشَأۡنَٰهُنَّ إِنشَآءٗ ٣٥
We have created them [companions] as a special creation,
56:36
فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُنَّ أَبۡكَارًا ٣٦
and made them virgin-pure [and undefiled],
56:37
عُرُبًا أَتۡرَابٗا ٣٧
full of love [for their mates], equal in age,
56:38
لِّأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ ٣٨
for the People of the Right Hand.
56:39
ثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ ٣٩
A group from those of old,
56:40
وَثُلَّةٞ مِّنَ ٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ ٤٠
And a group from those of later times.
56:41
وَأَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ مَآ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلشِّمَالِ ٤١
And the People of the Left Hand— what will be the People of the Left Hand?!
56:42
فِي سَمُومٖ وَحَمِيمٖ ٤٢
[They will be] in the midst of hot wind and Boiling Water,
56:43
وَظِلّٖ مِّن يَحۡمُومٖ ٤٣
and in the shades of Black Smoke,
56:44
لَّا بَارِدٖ وَلَا كَرِيمٍ ٤٤
neither cool nor gentle.
56:45
إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَبۡلَ ذَٰلِكَ مُتۡرَفِينَ ٤٥
Before that, they led a soft life,
56:46
وَكَانُواْ يُصِرُّونَ عَلَى ٱلۡحِنثِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ ٤٦
and they persisted obstinately in sinfulness, great!
56:47
وَكَانُواْ يَقُولُونَ أَئِذَا مِتۡنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابٗا وَعِظَٰمًا أَءِنَّا لَمَبۡعُوثُونَ ٤٧
And they used to say, “What! When we die and become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised up again?
56:48
أَوَءَابَآؤُنَا ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ ٤٨
“and [also] our fathers of old?”
56:49
قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱلۡأَوَّلِينَ وَٱلۡأٓخِرِينَ ٤٩
Say: “Yes, both those of old and those of later times,
56:50
لَمَجۡمُوعُونَ إِلَىٰ مِيقَٰتِ يَوۡمٖ مَّعۡلُومٖ ٥٠
“all will certainly be gathered together for a meeting appointed for a Day Well-known.
56:51
ثُمَّ إِنَّكُمۡ أَيُّهَا ٱلضَّآلُّونَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبُونَ ٥١
“Then will you truly, O you that went astray, the disbelievers [of the Truth],
56:52
لَأٓكِلُونَ مِن شَجَرٖ مِّن زَقُّومٖ ٥٢
“will surely eat of the tree of Zaqqūm,
56:53
فَمَالِـُٔونَ مِنۡهَا ٱلۡبُطُونَ ٥٣
“then will you fill your bellies therewith,
56:54
فَشَٰرِبُونَ عَلَيۡهِ مِنَ ٱلۡحَمِيمِ ٥٤
“and will drink boiling water on top of it:
56:55
فَشَٰرِبُونَ شُرۡبَ ٱلۡهِيمِ ٥٥
“Indeed you shall drink like diseased camels raging with [unquenchable] thirst!”
56:56
هَٰذَا نُزُلُهُمۡ يَوۡمَ ٱلدِّينِ ٥٦
Such will be their sustenance on the Day of Judgement!
56:57
نَحۡنُ خَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ فَلَوۡلَا تُصَدِّقُونَ ٥٧
It is We who have created you: why then will you not admit the Truth?
56:58
أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تُمۡنُونَ ٥٨
Do you then see the [human Seed] that you emit —
56:59
ءَأَنتُمۡ تَخۡلُقُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡخَٰلِقُونَ ٥٩
is it you who create it, or are We the Creators?
56:60
نَحۡنُ قَدَّرۡنَا بَيۡنَكُمُ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَمَا نَحۡنُ بِمَسۡبُوقِينَ ٦٠
We have decreed death to be your common lot, and We shall not be frustrated
56:61
عَلَىٰٓ أَن نُّبَدِّلَ أَمۡثَٰلَكُمۡ وَنُنشِئَكُمۡ فِي مَا لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ ٦١
from changing your forms and creating you [again] in [forms] that you know not.
56:62
وَلَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتُمُ ٱلنَّشۡأَةَ ٱلۡأُولَىٰ فَلَوۡلَا تَذَكَّرُونَ ٦٢
And you certainly [already] know the first form of creation: why then do you not take heed?
56:63
أَفَرَءَيۡتُم مَّا تَحۡرُثُونَ ٦٣
See you [the seed] that you sow [in the ground]?
56:64
ءَأَنتُمۡ تَزۡرَعُونَهُۥٓ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلزَّٰرِعُونَ ٦٤
Is it you that cause it to grow, or are We the cause?
56:65
لَوۡ نَشَآءُ لَجَعَلۡنَٰهُ حُطَٰمٗا فَظَلۡتُمۡ تَفَكَّهُونَ ٦٥
Were it Our Will, We could turn it [the crop] into dust, and you would be left in wonderment,
56:66
إِنَّا لَمُغۡرَمُونَ ٦٦
[saying:] “We are indeed left with [only] damages:
56:67
بَلۡ نَحۡنُ مَحۡرُومُونَ ٦٧
“Indeed, we have been deprived.”
56:68
أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱلۡمَآءَ ٱلَّذِي تَشۡرَبُونَ ٦٨
See you the water which you drink?
56:69
ءَأَنتُمۡ أَنزَلۡتُمُوهُ مِنَ ٱلۡمُزۡنِ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنزِلُونَ ٦٩
Do you bring it down [in rain] from the clouds or do We?
56:70
لَوۡ نَشَآءُ جَعَلۡنَٰهُ أُجَاجٗا فَلَوۡلَا تَشۡكُرُونَ ٧٠
Were it Our will, We could have made it saltish [and unpalatable]: then why are you not grateful?
56:71
أَفَرَءَيۡتُمُ ٱلنَّارَ ٱلَّتِي تُورُونَ ٧١
See you the Fire which you kindle?
56:72
ءَأَنتُمۡ أَنشَأۡتُمۡ شَجَرَتَهَآ أَمۡ نَحۡنُ ٱلۡمُنشِـُٔونَ ٧٢
Is it you who grow its tree [which feeds the fire], or do We grow it?
56:73
نَحۡنُ جَعَلۡنَٰهَا تَذۡكِرَةٗ وَمَتَٰعٗا لِّلۡمُقۡوِينَ ٧٣
We have made it [fire] a reminder [of Hell-Fire] and [an article of] comfort for the hungry.
56:74
فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ ٧٤
So glorify the name of your Lord, The Supreme!
56:75
فَلَآ أُقۡسِمُ بِمَوَٰقِعِ ٱلنُّجُومِ ٧٥
Furthermore, I swear by the settings of the Stars,
56:76
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَقَسَمٞ لَّوۡ تَعۡلَمُونَ عَظِيمٌ ٧٦
and that is indeed a mighty oath only if you knew,
56:77
إِنَّهُۥ لَقُرۡءَانٞ كَرِيمٞ ٧٧
that this indeed is a Qur’ān, Most Honourable,
56:78
فِي كِتَٰبٖ مَّكۡنُونٖ ٧٨
[preserved] in Book closely-protected,
56:79
لَّا يَمَسُّهُۥٓ إِلَّا ٱلۡمُطَهَّرُونَ ٧٩
Which none touch it but those who are purified:
56:80
تَنزِيلٞ مِّن رَّبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ٨٠
[it is] a Revelation from the Lord of the Worlds.
56:81
أَفَبِهَٰذَا ٱلۡحَدِيثِ أَنتُم مُّدۡهِنُونَ ٨١
Is this the Message that you would [carelessly] disregard?
56:82
وَتَجۡعَلُونَ رِزۡقَكُمۡ أَنَّكُمۡ تُكَذِّبُونَ ٨٢
and you made it your livelihood that you should disbelieve [the Message]?
56:83
فَلَوۡلَآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلۡحُلۡقُومَ ٨٣
Then why do you not [intervene] when [the soul of the dying man] reaches the throat,
56:84
وَأَنتُمۡ حِينَئِذٖ تَنظُرُونَ ٨٤
while you [sit hopelessly] looking on.
56:85
وَنَحۡنُ أَقۡرَبُ إِلَيۡهِ مِنكُمۡ وَلَٰكِن لَّا تُبۡصِرُونَ ٨٥
[But] We are nearer to him than you, but you see not.
56:86
فَلَوۡلَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ غَيۡرَ مَدِينِينَ ٨٦
So why do you not, if you are exempt from [future] accountability,
56:87
تَرۡجِعُونَهَآ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ ٨٧
call it [that soul] back, if you are true [in your claim of unaccountability]?
56:88
فَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُقَرَّبِينَ ٨٨
So, then, if he [the dead person] be of those close [to Allāh],
56:89
فَرَوۡحٞ وَرَيۡحَانٞ وَجَنَّتُ نَعِيمٖ ٨٩
[there is for him] Mercy and sustenance, and a Garden of delight.
56:90
وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ ٩٠
And if he be of the People of the Right Hand,
56:91
فَسَلَٰمٞ لَّكَ مِنۡ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلۡيَمِينِ ٩١
[for him will be the salutation] from the People of the Right Hand: “Peace be unto you!”
56:92
وَأَمَّآ إِن كَانَ مِنَ ٱلۡمُكَذِّبِينَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ ٩٢
But if he be of those who disbelieved [the Truth], and went astray,
56:93
فَنُزُلٞ مِّنۡ حَمِيمٖ ٩٣
for him is the sustenance of Boiling Water,
56:94
وَتَصۡلِيَةُ جَحِيمٍ ٩٤
and burning in Hell-Fire.
56:95
إِنَّ هَٰذَا لَهُوَ حَقُّ ٱلۡيَقِينِ ٩٥
Verily, this is the very Truth of assured certainty.
56:96
فَسَبِّحۡ بِٱسۡمِ رَبِّكَ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ ٩٦
So glorify the name of your Lord, The Supreme.
سُورَةُ الحَدِيدِ57. The Iron
57:1
سَبَّحَ لِلَّهِ مَا فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡحَكِيمُ ١
Whatever is in the heavens and on earth glorifies Allāh: and He is the Mighty, the Most-Wise.
57:2
لَهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ يُحۡيِۦ وَيُمِيتُۖ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٌ ٢
To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. It is He who gives Life and Death; and He has [absolute] power over all things.
57:3
هُوَ ٱلۡأَوَّلُ وَٱلۡأٓخِرُ وَٱلظَّٰهِرُ وَٱلۡبَاطِنُۖ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمٌ ٣
He is the First,the Last,the Manifestand the Hidden:and He has full knowledge of all things.
57:4
هُوَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ فِي سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٖ ثُمَّ ٱسۡتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلۡعَرۡشِۚ يَعۡلَمُ مَا يَلِجُ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَمَا يَخۡرُجُ مِنۡهَا وَمَا يَنزِلُ مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا يَعۡرُجُ فِيهَاۖ وَهُوَ مَعَكُمۡ أَيۡنَ مَا كُنتُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ بَصِيرٞ ٤
He it is who created the heavens and the earth in Six Days,then He established [Himself] on the Throne.He knows what enters the earth and what comes out of it, what goes down from heaven and what rises up to it. And He is with you wheresoever you may be. And Allāh sees well all that you do.
57:5
لَّهُۥ مُلۡكُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَإِلَى ٱللَّهِ تُرۡجَعُ ٱلۡأُمُورُ ٥
To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth: and [all] affairs go back to Allāh.
57:6
يُولِجُ ٱلَّيۡلَ فِي ٱلنَّهَارِ وَيُولِجُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فِي ٱلَّيۡلِۚ وَهُوَ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ ٦
He merges Night into Day, And He merges Day into Night; and He has full knowledge of the secrets of hearts.
57:7
ءَامِنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرَسُولِهِۦ وَأَنفِقُواْ مِمَّا جَعَلَكُم مُّسۡتَخۡلَفِينَ فِيهِۖ فَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنكُمۡ وَأَنفَقُواْ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرٞ كَبِيرٞ ٧
Believe in Allāh and His Messenger, and spend [in charity] out of the [bounty] whereof He has made you heirs. So, for those of you who believe and spend [in charity], is a great Reward.
57:8
وَمَا لَكُمۡ لَا تُؤۡمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِۙ وَٱلرَّسُولُ يَدۡعُوكُمۡ لِتُؤۡمِنُواْ بِرَبِّكُمۡ وَقَدۡ أَخَذَ مِيثَٰقَكُمۡ إِن كُنتُم مُّؤۡمِنِينَ ٨
How is it with you that you believe not in Allāh?, while the Messenger invites you to believe in your Lord who has indeed taken your Covenant,if you are people of Faith.
57:9
هُوَ ٱلَّذِي يُنَزِّلُ عَلَىٰ عَبۡدِهِۦٓ ءَايَٰتِۭ بَيِّنَٰتٖ لِّيُخۡرِجَكُم مِّنَ ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ إِلَى ٱلنُّورِۚ وَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِكُمۡ لَرَءُوفٞ رَّحِيمٞ ٩
He is the One who sends to His Servant Manifest Signs, so that He may lead you from the depths of Darkness into the Light. Verily, Allāh is to you Most-Compassionate and Most-Merciful.
57:10
وَمَا لَكُمۡ أَلَّا تُنفِقُواْ فِي سَبِيلِ ٱللَّهِ وَلِلَّهِ مِيرَٰثُ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ لَا يَسۡتَوِي مِنكُم مَّنۡ أَنفَقَ مِن قَبۡلِ ٱلۡفَتۡحِ وَقَٰتَلَۚ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَعۡظَمُ دَرَجَةٗ مِّنَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنفَقُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدُ وَقَٰتَلُواْۚ وَكُلّٗا وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰۚ وَٱللَّهُ بِمَا تَعۡمَلُونَ خَبِيرٞ ١٠
How is it with you that you spend not in the way of Allāh? For to Allāh belongs the heritage of the heavens and the earth. Not equal among you are those who spent and fought before the Conquest[with those who did so later]. Those are higher in rank than those who spent and fought afterwards. But to all has Allāh promised an excellent [reward]. And Allāh is All-Knowing of all that you do.
57:11
مَّن ذَا ٱلَّذِي يُقۡرِضُ ٱللَّهَ قَرۡضًا حَسَنٗا فَيُضَٰعِفَهُۥ لَهُۥ وَلَهُۥٓ أَجۡرٞ كَرِيمٞ ١١
Who is the one who will loan to Allāh a beautiful loan? For [Allāh] will increase it manifold to his credit, and [besides] he will have a generous reward,
57:12
يَوۡمَ تَرَى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ يَسۡعَىٰ نُورُهُم بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَبِأَيۡمَٰنِهِم بُشۡرَىٰكُمُ ٱلۡيَوۡمَ جَنَّٰتٞ تَجۡرِي مِن تَحۡتِهَا ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ خَٰلِدِينَ فِيهَاۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُوَ ٱلۡفَوۡزُ ٱلۡعَظِيمُ ١٢
[on] the Day you shall see the believing men and the believing women — how their Light runs forward before them and by their right hands. [Their greeting will be:] “Glad tidings for you this Day! [Yours are] Gardens beneath which flow rivers, to dwell therein forever! This indeed is the Supreme Success.
57:13
يَوۡمَ يَقُولُ ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقُونَ وَٱلۡمُنَٰفِقَٰتُ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱنظُرُونَا نَقۡتَبِسۡ مِن نُّورِكُمۡ قِيلَ ٱرۡجِعُواْ وَرَآءَكُمۡ فَٱلۡتَمِسُواْ نُورٗا فَضُرِبَ بَيۡنَهُم بِسُورٖ لَّهُۥ بَابُۢ بَاطِنُهُۥ فِيهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَةُ وَظَٰهِرُهُۥ مِن قِبَلِهِ ٱلۡعَذَابُ ١٣
The Day the hypocrite men and hypocrite women will say to the Believers: “Wait for us! Let us borrow [a glimpse] from your Light!” It will be said: “Turn you back! Then seek a light [where you can]!” So a wall will be put up between them, with a gate therein. Within it will be Mercy throughout, and without it, all alongside, will be Punishment!
57:14
يُنَادُونَهُمۡ أَلَمۡ نَكُن مَّعَكُمۡۖ قَالُواْ بَلَىٰ وَلَٰكِنَّكُمۡ فَتَنتُمۡ أَنفُسَكُمۡ وَتَرَبَّصۡتُمۡ وَٱرۡتَبۡتُمۡ وَغَرَّتۡكُمُ ٱلۡأَمَانِيُّ حَتَّىٰ جَآءَ أَمۡرُ ٱللَّهِ وَغَرَّكُم بِٱللَّهِ ٱلۡغَرُورُ ١٤
[Those without] will call out, “Were we not with you?” [The others] will reply, “True! But you led yourselves into temptation; you waited [to our ruin]; you doubted [Allāh’s Promise]; and [your false] desires deceived you; until there came the Command of Allāh. And the Deceivermisguided you about Allāh.
57:15
فَٱلۡيَوۡمَ لَا يُؤۡخَذُ مِنكُمۡ فِدۡيَةٞ وَلَا مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْۚ مَأۡوَىٰكُمُ ٱلنَّارُۖ هِيَ مَوۡلَىٰكُمۡۖ وَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ ١٥
“This Day shall no ransom be taken from you, nor of those who rejected [Allāh]. The Fire is your [eternal] abode: That is the fitting place to claim you: and an evil final destination it is!”
57:16
أَلَمۡ يَأۡنِ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَن تَخۡشَعَ قُلُوبُهُمۡ لِذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِ وَمَا نَزَلَ مِنَ ٱلۡحَقِّ وَلَا يَكُونُواْ كَٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبۡلُ فَطَالَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡأَمَدُ فَقَسَتۡ قُلُوبُهُمۡۖ وَكَثِيرٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ فَٰسِقُونَ ١٦
Has the time not arrived for the Believers that their hearts in all humility should engage in the remembrance of Allāh and of the Truth which has been revealed, and that they should not be like those to whom the Book was given aforetime, but long ages passed over them and their hearts grew hard? And many among them are transgressors.
57:17
ٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُحۡيِ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ بَعۡدَ مَوۡتِهَاۚ قَدۡ بَيَّنَّا لَكُمُ ٱلۡأٓيَٰتِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَعۡقِلُونَ ١٧
Know you [all] that Allāh gives life to the earth after its death! Already have We explained the Signs plainly to you, that you may understand.
57:18
إِنَّ ٱلۡمُصَّدِّقِينَ وَٱلۡمُصَّدِّقَٰتِ وَأَقۡرَضُواْ ٱللَّهَ قَرۡضًا حَسَنٗا يُضَٰعَفُ لَهُمۡ وَلَهُمۡ أَجۡرٞ كَرِيمٞ ١٨
For those who give in charity, men and women, and who extend to Allāh a beautiful loan, it shall be increased manifold [to their credit], and [besides] they shall have [an additional] generous reward.
57:19
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦٓ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلصِّدِّيقُونَۖ وَٱلشُّهَدَآءُ عِندَ رَبِّهِمۡ لَهُمۡ أَجۡرُهُمۡ وَنُورُهُمۡۖ وَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَكَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلۡجَحِيمِ ١٩
And those who believe in Allāh and His Messengers — they are the Truthfuland the Martyrs,in the eyes of their Lord: They shall have their Reward and their Light. And those who reject [Allāh] and disbelieve Our Signs, they are the People of Hell.
57:20
ٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّمَا ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَا لَعِبٞ وَلَهۡوٞ وَزِينَةٞ وَتَفَاخُرُۢ بَيۡنَكُمۡ وَتَكَاثُرٞ فِي ٱلۡأَمۡوَٰلِ وَٱلۡأَوۡلَٰدِۖ كَمَثَلِ غَيۡثٍ أَعۡجَبَ ٱلۡكُفَّارَ نَبَاتُهُۥ ثُمَّ يَهِيجُ فَتَرَىٰهُ مُصۡفَرّٗا ثُمَّ يَكُونُ حُطَٰمٗاۖ وَفِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ عَذَابٞ شَدِيدٞ وَمَغۡفِرَةٞ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَرِضۡوَٰنٞۚ وَمَا ٱلۡحَيَوٰةُ ٱلدُّنۡيَآ إِلَّا مَتَٰعُ ٱلۡغُرُورِ ٢٠
Know you [all] that the life of this world is but play and pastime, adornment and mutual boasting, and multiplying [in rivalry] among yourselves in wealth and children. Its simile is the rain and the growth which delights [the hearts of] the tillers; then it withers; you see it grow yellow then it crumbles into pieces. And in the Hereafter is severe punishment [for the sinful], and Forgiveness from Allāh and [His] Good Pleasure [for the worshippers of Allāh]. And the life of this world is nothing but chattel of deception.
57:21
سَابِقُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ مَغۡفِرَةٖ مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡ وَجَنَّةٍ عَرۡضُهَا كَعَرۡضِ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ أُعِدَّتۡ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ بِٱللَّهِ وَرُسُلِهِۦۚ ذَٰلِكَ فَضۡلُ ٱللَّهِ يُؤۡتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو ٱلۡفَضۡلِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ ٢١
Hasten [to seek] forgiveness from your Lord, and Paradise, the width whereof is as the width of the heaven and the earth, prepared for those who believe in Allāh and His Messengers: That is the Grace of Allāh, which He bestows on whom He pleases: and Allāh is the Lord-of-Grace-Abounding.
57:22
مَآ أَصَابَ مِن مُّصِيبَةٖ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَلَا فِيٓ أَنفُسِكُمۡ إِلَّا فِي كِتَٰبٖ مِّن قَبۡلِ أَن نَّبۡرَأَهَآۚ إِنَّ ذَٰلِكَ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ يَسِيرٞ ٢٢
No misfortune can happen on earth or [afflict] your selves but is recorded in a Book before We brought it into existence: That is [truly] easy for Allāh:
57:23
لِّكَيۡلَا تَأۡسَوۡاْ عَلَىٰ مَا فَاتَكُمۡ وَلَا تَفۡرَحُواْ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰكُمۡۗ وَٱللَّهُ لَا يُحِبُّ كُلَّ مُخۡتَالٖ فَخُورٍ ٢٣
In order that you may not despair over matters that pass you by, nor exult over favours [He] bestowed upon you. For Allāh loves not any arrogant boaster,
57:24
ٱلَّذِينَ يَبۡخَلُونَ وَيَأۡمُرُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ بِٱلۡبُخۡلِۗ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّ فَإِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلۡغَنِيُّ ٱلۡحَمِيدُ ٢٤
such as those who are miserly and command miserliness to people. And whoever turns back [from Allāh’s Way], [let him know], Allāh is surely Free-of-All-Want,Worthy-of-all-Praise.
57:25
لَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا رُسُلَنَا بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ وَأَنزَلۡنَا مَعَهُمُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ وَٱلۡمِيزَانَ لِيَقُومَ ٱلنَّاسُ بِٱلۡقِسۡطِۖ وَأَنزَلۡنَا ٱلۡحَدِيدَ فِيهِ بَأۡسٞ شَدِيدٞ وَمَنَٰفِعُ لِلنَّاسِ وَلِيَعۡلَمَ ٱللَّهُ مَن يَنصُرُهُۥ وَرُسُلَهُۥ بِٱلۡغَيۡبِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ قَوِيٌّ عَزِيزٞ ٢٥
We sent aforetime Our Messengers with Clear Signs and sent down with them the Book and the Balance[of Justice], so that people may stand forth in justice; and We sent down iron, in which is great might as well as many benefits for Mankind, that Allāh may test who it is that will help, unseen, Him and His Messengers: for Allāh is Mighty, All-Powerful.
57:26
وَلَقَدۡ أَرۡسَلۡنَا نُوحٗا وَإِبۡرَٰهِيمَ وَجَعَلۡنَا فِي ذُرِّيَّتِهِمَا ٱلنُّبُوَّةَ وَٱلۡكِتَٰبَۖ فَمِنۡهُم مُّهۡتَدٖۖ وَكَثِيرٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ فَٰسِقُونَ ٢٦
And We sent Nūḥand Ibrāhīm,and established in their line Prophethood and Revelation: so some of them were rightly-guided, but many of them are transgressors.
57:27
ثُمَّ قَفَّيۡنَا عَلَىٰٓ ءَاثَٰرِهِم بِرُسُلِنَا وَقَفَّيۡنَا بِعِيسَى ٱبۡنِ مَرۡيَمَ وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ ٱلۡإِنجِيلَ وَجَعَلۡنَا فِي قُلُوبِ ٱلَّذِينَ ٱتَّبَعُوهُ رَأۡفَةٗ وَرَحۡمَةٗ وَرَهۡبَانِيَّةً ٱبۡتَدَعُوهَا مَا كَتَبۡنَٰهَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ إِلَّا ٱبۡتِغَآءَ رِضۡوَٰنِ ٱللَّهِ فَمَا رَعَوۡهَا حَقَّ رِعَايَتِهَاۖ فَـَٔاتَيۡنَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ مِنۡهُمۡ أَجۡرَهُمۡۖ وَكَثِيرٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ فَٰسِقُونَ ٢٧
Then, in their wake, We followed them up with [others of] Our Messengers: We sent after them ‘Īsā,the son of Mariyam,and bestowed on him the Gospel; and We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy. [But] they invented monasticismfor themselves: We did not prescribe it for them: [We commanded] only the seeking of the Pleasure of Allāh; but they did not foster it as they should have done. So, We bestowed on those among them who believed, their [due] reward, but many of them are transgressors.
57:28
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَءَامِنُواْ بِرَسُولِهِۦ يُؤۡتِكُمۡ كِفۡلَيۡنِ مِن رَّحۡمَتِهِۦ وَيَجۡعَل لَّكُمۡ نُورٗا تَمۡشُونَ بِهِۦ وَيَغۡفِرۡ لَكُمۡۚ وَٱللَّهُ غَفُورٞ رَّحِيمٞ ٢٨
O You who believe! Fear Allāh, and believe in His Messenger. [If you do] He will bestow on you a double portion of His Mercy: He will provide for you a light by which you shall walk [straight in your path], and He will forgive you: for Allāh is Oft-Forgiving, Most-Merciful:
57:29
لِّئَلَّا يَعۡلَمَ أَهۡلُ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ أَلَّا يَقۡدِرُونَ عَلَىٰ شَيۡءٖ مِّن فَضۡلِ ٱللَّهِۙ وَأَنَّ ٱلۡفَضۡلَ بِيَدِ ٱللَّهِ يُؤۡتِيهِ مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَٱللَّهُ ذُو ٱلۡفَضۡلِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ ٢٩
that the People of the Book may know that they have no power whatever over the Grace of Allāh, that Grace is [entirely] in His Hand, to bestow it on whomsoever He wills. For Allāh is the Lord-of-Grace-Abounding.
