The Sovereignty
67:1
تَبَٰرَكَ ٱلَّذِي بِيَدِهِ ٱلۡمُلۡكُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيۡءٖ قَدِيرٌ ١
Exalted is He in whose hand is the Sovereignty;and who has [absolute] power over all things;
67:2
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلۡمَوۡتَ وَٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ لِيَبۡلُوَكُمۡ أَيُّكُمۡ أَحۡسَنُ عَمَلٗاۚ وَهُوَ ٱلۡعَزِيزُ ٱلۡغَفُورُ ٢
who created Death and Life, so that He may test which of you is best in deeds: and He is the Mighty, the Oft-Forgiving;
67:3
ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبۡعَ سَمَٰوَٰتٖ طِبَاقٗاۖ مَّا تَرَىٰ فِي خَلۡقِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ مِن تَفَٰوُتٖۖ فَٱرۡجِعِ ٱلۡبَصَرَ هَلۡ تَرَىٰ مِن فُطُورٖ ٣
who created the seven heavens, one above the other. No want of proportion will you see in the Creation of the Most-Gracious. So turn your vision again: see you any crack?
67:4
ثُمَّ ٱرۡجِعِ ٱلۡبَصَرَ كَرَّتَيۡنِ يَنقَلِبۡ إِلَيۡكَ ٱلۡبَصَرُ خَاسِئٗا وَهُوَ حَسِيرٞ ٤
Again turn your vision a second time: [your] vision will return to you humbled, and tired.
67:5
وَلَقَدۡ زَيَّنَّا ٱلسَّمَآءَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا بِمَصَٰبِيحَ وَجَعَلۡنَٰهَا رُجُومٗا لِّلشَّيَٰطِينِۖ وَأَعۡتَدۡنَا لَهُمۡ عَذَابَ ٱلسَّعِيرِ ٥
And We have adorned the lowest heaven with lamps, and We have made such [lamps as] missiles to drive away the Shayṭāns, and We have prepared for them the Punishment of the Blazing Fire.
67:6
وَلِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ بِرَبِّهِمۡ عَذَابُ جَهَنَّمَۖ وَبِئۡسَ ٱلۡمَصِيرُ ٦
And for those who reject their Lord [the Sustainer] is the Punishment of Hell: and most evil is [that] destination.
67:7
إِذَآ أُلۡقُواْ فِيهَا سَمِعُواْ لَهَا شَهِيقٗا وَهِيَ تَفُورُ ٧
When they are cast therein, they will hear the [terrible] drawing in of its breath while it boils over,
67:8
تَكَادُ تَمَيَّزُ مِنَ ٱلۡغَيۡظِۖ كُلَّمَآ أُلۡقِيَ فِيهَا فَوۡجٞ سَأَلَهُمۡ خَزَنَتُهَآ أَلَمۡ يَأۡتِكُمۡ نَذِيرٞ ٨
almost bursting with fury. Every time a group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, “Did no Warner come to you?”
67:9
قَالُواْ بَلَىٰ قَدۡ جَآءَنَا نَذِيرٞ فَكَذَّبۡنَا وَقُلۡنَا مَا نَزَّلَ ٱللَّهُ مِن شَيۡءٍ إِنۡ أَنتُمۡ إِلَّا فِي ضَلَٰلٖ كَبِيرٖ ٩
They will say: “Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we disbelieved him and said, ‘Allāh never sent down anything: You are in nothing but a grave deviation!’”
67:10
وَقَالُواْ لَوۡ كُنَّا نَسۡمَعُ أَوۡ نَعۡقِلُ مَا كُنَّا فِيٓ أَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ ١٠
They will [further] say: “Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we should not [now] be among the People of the Blazing Fire!”
67:11
فَٱعۡتَرَفُواْ بِذَنۢبِهِمۡ فَسُحۡقٗا لِّأَصۡحَٰبِ ٱلسَّعِيرِ ١١
Thus they will [themselves] confess their sins: so curse [of Allāh] be on the People of the Blazing Fire!
67:12
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلۡغَيۡبِ لَهُم مَّغۡفِرَةٞ وَأَجۡرٞ كَبِيرٞ ١٢
For those who fear their Lord unseen, is forgiveness and a great reward.
67:13
وَأَسِرُّواْ قَوۡلَكُمۡ أَوِ ٱجۡهَرُواْ بِهِۦٓۖ إِنَّهُۥ عَلِيمُۢ بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ ١٣
Whether you hide your word or say it openly, He certainly has [full] knowledge of the secrets of [all] hearts.
67:14
أَلَا يَعۡلَمُ مَنۡ خَلَقَ وَهُوَ ٱللَّطِيفُ ٱلۡخَبِيرُ ١٤
Should He not know who created? And He is the Most-Subtle, the All-Knowing.
67:15
هُوَ ٱلَّذِي جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ ذَلُولٗا فَٱمۡشُواْ فِي مَنَاكِبِهَا وَكُلُواْ مِن رِّزۡقِهِۦۖ وَإِلَيۡهِ ٱلنُّشُورُ ١٥
It is He who has made the earth manageable for you, so traverse you through its tracts and enjoy of the sustenance which He furnishes: [and remember that] unto Him is the Resurrection.
67:16
ءَأَمِنتُم مَّن فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ أَن يَخۡسِفَ بِكُمُ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ فَإِذَا هِيَ تَمُورُ ١٦
Do you feel secure that He who is in the Heaven will not cause you to be swallowed up by the earth when it shakes [and moves as in an earthquake]?
67:17
أَمۡ أَمِنتُم مَّن فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ أَن يُرۡسِلَ عَلَيۡكُمۡ حَاصِبٗاۖ فَسَتَعۡلَمُونَ كَيۡفَ نَذِيرِ ١٧
Or do you feel secure that He who is in the Heaven will not send against you a [violent] wind bearing pebbles, so that you shall know how [terrible] was My warning?
67:18
وَلَقَدۡ كَذَّبَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبۡلِهِمۡ فَكَيۡفَ كَانَ نَكِيرِ ١٨
Indeed, those before themdisbelieved [My warnings]: Then [see] how [terrible] was My disapproval [of them]?
67:19
أَوَلَمۡ يَرَوۡاْ إِلَى ٱلطَّيۡرِ فَوۡقَهُمۡ صَٰٓفَّٰتٖ وَيَقۡبِضۡنَۚ مَا يُمۡسِكُهُنَّ إِلَّا ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُۚ إِنَّهُۥ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءِۭ بَصِيرٌ ١٩
Do they not observe the birds above them, spreading their wings and folding them in? None can uphold them except the Most-Gracious. Truly, it is He who watches over all things.
67:20
أَمَّنۡ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي هُوَ جُندٞ لَّكُمۡ يَنصُرُكُم مِّن دُونِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِۚ إِنِ ٱلۡكَٰفِرُونَ إِلَّا فِي غُرُورٍ ٢٠
Can this army of yourshelp you against the Most-Gracious? In nothing but delusion are the Rejecters [of Truth].
67:21
أَمَّنۡ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي يَرۡزُقُكُمۡ إِنۡ أَمۡسَكَ رِزۡقَهُۥۚ بَل لَّجُّواْ فِي عُتُوّٖ وَنُفُورٍ ٢١
Or who is there that can provide you with Sustenance if He were to withhold His provision? Nay, they obstinately persist in [insolent] violation and aversion [from the Truth].
67:22
أَفَمَن يَمۡشِي مُكِبًّا عَلَىٰ وَجۡهِهِۦٓ أَهۡدَىٰٓ أَمَّن يَمۡشِي سَوِيًّا عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٖ مُّسۡتَقِيمٖ ٢٢
Is then one who walks stooped [falling on] his face, better guided, or one who walks evenly on a Straight Path?
67:23
قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلَّذِيٓ أَنشَأَكُمۡ وَجَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلسَّمۡعَ وَٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرَ وَٱلۡأَفۡـِٔدَةَۖ قَلِيلٗا مَّا تَشۡكُرُونَ ٢٣
Say [O Prophet]: “It is He who has created you and made for you the faculties of hearing, sight, and understating: but little thanks it is you give [to Allāh].
67:24
قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلَّذِي ذَرَأَكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ وَإِلَيۡهِ تُحۡشَرُونَ ٢٤
Say: “It is He who has spread you across the earth, and to Him shall you be gathered together.”
67:25
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ ٢٥
They [the Rejecters] say: When will this warning be [fulfilled], if you are telling the truth?
67:26
قُلۡ إِنَّمَا ٱلۡعِلۡمُ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَإِنَّمَآ أَنَا۠ نَذِيرٞ مُّبِينٞ ٢٦
Say [O Prophet]: “As to the knowledge of the time, it is with Allāh alone: I am [only] a plain Warner.”
67:27
فَلَمَّا رَأَوۡهُ زُلۡفَةٗ سِيٓـَٔتۡ وُجُوهُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ وَقِيلَ هَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِۦ تَدَّعُونَ ٢٧
At length, when they will see it close at hand, blackened will be the faces of the Rejecters [of Truth], and it will be said [to them]: “This is [the promise fulfilled], which you were calling for!”
67:28
قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِنۡ أَهۡلَكَنِيَ ٱللَّهُ وَمَن مَّعِيَ أَوۡ رَحِمَنَا فَمَن يُجِيرُ ٱلۡكَٰفِرِينَ مِنۡ عَذَابٍ أَلِيمٖ ٢٨
Say [O Prophet]: “See you! If Allāh were to destroy me, and those with me, or if He bestows His Mercy on us, yet who can deliver the Rejecters from a painful Punishment?”
67:29
قُلۡ هُوَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ ءَامَنَّا بِهِۦ وَعَلَيۡهِ تَوَكَّلۡنَاۖ فَسَتَعۡلَمُونَ مَنۡ هُوَ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖ ٢٩
Say: “He is the Most-Gracious: we have believed in Him, and on Him have we put our trust: So, soon will you know which [of us] it is that is in manifest deviation.”
67:30
قُلۡ أَرَءَيۡتُمۡ إِنۡ أَصۡبَحَ مَآؤُكُمۡ غَوۡرٗا فَمَن يَأۡتِيكُم بِمَآءٖ مَّعِينِۭ ٣٠
Say: “See you! If your water be some morning went away [in the underground earth], who then will supply you with clear-flowing water?”
